Maybelline Dream Blender Foundation Blending Sponge Review

Maybelline Dream Blender Sponge

Maybelline Dream Blender Foundation Blending Sponge ($5.99) is a blending sponge created for use with the brand new Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation that released with the Maybelline Spring 2016 Collection.

If you read my blog you’re likely intimately associated with my love of the Elizabeth Arden Makeup Blender Brush! I love that sponge so much. It’s a simple precise point sponge with an attached handle that you can use with creams, liquids, BB Creams, etc…it gives any and all foundations a perfectly flawless finish.

The new Maybelline Dream Blender Foundation Blending Sponge is just as awesome and way more budget friendly.

Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation

I’m happen to be the person that has a million brushes but I use my fingers to apply foundation. I just feel like I have more control over the situation with my fingers. But I have very few steady relationships with any one facial brush or sponge.

Maybelline Dream Blender Foundation Blending Sponge is a short little handled sponge with a precise point that fits in all the little contours, nooks, and crannies around your face to blend in your foundation to a picture perfect finish. Think of it as a beauty blender style sponge with a handle. The sponge is fairy dense and firm so it doesn’t soak up all your foundation into the great beyond.

The sponge tip has a diamond like domed head so it fits contour of your jaw line, down the sides of your nose, etc without a hiccup. I simply apply a little foundation on the back of my hand, dip the sponge it, and bounce it gently off my face and follow back around stroking downward. You can wet it if you like but I prefer mine dry. It produces a soft focused natural finish on skin that looks airbrushed.

Maybelline Dream Blender

I own a Beauty Blender but I’m not really a fan as I always feel like it piles on a ton of foundation where as Maybelline’s sponge is much denser so I get a smoother, lighter finish which is exactly the coverage I desire. It does build easily as well so if you desire more coverage, no problem, it’ll easily build without producing a heavily made up look. The sponge tip can be easily submerged in water or makeup cleaner as well to rinse it clean.

Maybelline Dream Blender Foundation Blending Sponge is a nice, nifty tool for applying the new Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation.

Look for it now at drugstores.

I purchased this item.

This tool looks interesting, and budget friendly. I do not love the beauty blender either. I thought I was the only one on the planet.

Beauty blender is ok but it seems to soak up a ton of foundation and proceeds to apply loads on your face. For me, it’s a little overkill sometimes.

I really like my real techniques sponge… it really blends my makeup into my skin and keeps my foundation from looking cakey. Since you mentioned that this sponge is a bit more firm and dense, I think I’ll pass on it… doesn’t look like something I’d enjoy using. Thanks for sharing! I love that drugstore brands are coming out with more unique products for us!

I’m so happy that this tool worked well for you. When I saw the previews for this, I was certainly interested. The price is certainly good too. 🙂
