QVC Beauty Christmas Advent Calendar Review

QVC Beauty Christmas Advent Calendar3

QVC Beauty Christmas Advent Calendar ($79.96) brings me back to my childhood. Recently, I was stalking Instagram and a friend of mine posted an image of an empty advent calendar. You could see smudges of chocolate inside each of the tiny openings where her kids had popped open every single day of the month. I think we have all been guilty of doing that at some point in our lives.

It was just too tempting to have 25 delicious chocolate sitting inside a calendar and expecting us to eat just one each day. Ugh! Such a tease!

Advent Calendars have evolved since I was a child and more recently they have become an important part of our beauty lives. With origins within the UK, the beauty or makeup advent calendar started gaining popularity with brands like Clarins creating gorgeous little beauty filled calendar to countdown the days to Christmas. More recently the Body Shop, Benefit, Tarte, and other brands have launched their own Christmas Countdown Calendars right here in the US.

But one of the nicest and the largest (largest content wise that is) I’ve come across was the QVC Beauty Christmas Advent Calendar.

QVC Beauty Christmas Advent Calendar comes housed in heavy, sturdy red box with snowflakes decorating the entire inside and outside of the box. A gold clasp holds the box closed and once flipped open this splits into two haves with 12 little pop out windows on each side. It’s a truly beautiful presentation plus it stands up by itself so you can pop it on your mantel or vanity. If you want you can even refill it for next year with little surprises. You can also remove the plastic inserts and use the box as a little place to store treasures or makeup but be careful when you’re pulling the plastic out because you can rip the backing of the cardboard. Just wriggle it gently out and you’ll have a nice little box for storing bits and bobs inside.

This is a nice calendar because it isn’t centered around one specific brand! It contains a variety of beauty, skincare, and makeup from a ton of different brands like It Cosmetics, Josie Maran, Bliss, Bare Minerals, etc…

There were so many products inside here that I’ve been wanting to try for myself but haven’t yet indulged in. And now I have a bunch of generous deluxe sizes to try out! This also has a ton of my favorite items like It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer, Kat Somerville Exfolikate, Josie Maran Argan Oil, and more!

It’s such a nice way to replenish some of your fav items or get some of your favs in travel size. It’s also a nice way to finally try some items from your wish list!

Such a great little advent calendar!

It sadly sold out on qvc.com.

But if it does come back in stock I’ll be sure to let you know!

Did anyone grab it when it did go on sale?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I love to see more USA brands doing advent calendars. And I totally love this isn’t specific to 1 brand, and it’s QVC’s best and most popular products, not slow-selling duds they are trying to unload. I was tempted to get it, but I already have tried a number of the products in there. That PTR Firmx Peeling Gel is awesome, my FAVE exfoliator –tons of dead dull skin just sloughs off within minutes! I’ve re-purchased many tubes. I also love the JM oil, the Bye Bye Undereye, and the Algenist serum. I’m curious about the Doll blush and lip gloss. What do you think? Does it last a long time?

I’m glad you said that as the peeling gel was something on my wish list and wasn’t sure if it would work 🙂 can’t wait to try! I like it. I wore it yesterday and it didn’t fade, which is impressed as cream blushes tend to disappear on me fast. It looked great for 8 hours. I don’t like it on my lips though! The color is a bit too chalky for me and it looks dry!

Thanks for your thoughts on the blush Muse! 8 hrs is pretty darn good. Not surprised it didn’t work on the lips. Most of these lip/cheek products are either good on cheeks or lips but not both, and I don’t like to use same product on both either. Will put the blush on wish list

        • Isabella Muse

me neither. It’s gross to go from lips to cheeks for some reason kinda grosses me out! I agree, a majority aren’t great for both! I’m liking Doll10 btw, their powder is great! And I LOVE that battery operated brush they have!

Just wanted to thank you for your newsletter! I just saw the one today had the 2016 QVC Advent Calendar in it. I ordered within minutes 🙂 I wasn’t sure if they QVC would have it again and didn’t want to miss out! I had gotten the 2015 calendar last year and couldn’t believe the fun, value and great products in. My daughter and I love waking up on the December mornings to see what’s in the windows…and which one of us will get it. Thanks again for all the great beauty info you provide!
