Swatches of MAC Ellie Goulding Collection

I love everything about MAC X Ellie Goulding so much so I had to share swatches of the collection before reviewing it. This makeup collection is a collaborated effort between singer and muscians Ellie Goulding and MAC Cosmetics which a launch date set for December 14th.

I think MAC has lost a little of its magic for me but sometimes they capture my eye and that would be the case with the MAC x Ellie Goulding Collection. This collections features soft, natural shades of peach, beige, brown, and other soft focused colors that should be very flattering on fair and medium fair skin types and tones.

I have one minor complaint about this collection. I wish the lip colors were more pigmented!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are such beautiful peach nudes but they apply very, very sheer. Sadness! Aside from that I thought the colors were incredibly soft and wearable. The boxes are even pretty with Ellie’s initials splashed in rose gold across the front in in an interesting triangle design which follows through on across the tubes and compacts as well.

    Too sheer for me–if I’m paying for MAC’s stupid prices it better be opaque lol! The packaging is very pretty though.

    I’m with you on the lip products, too sheer for me. The face kit looks much better. I prefer a bolder look, but this would be nice for someone who likes a more natural look or is just getting into makeup

    Pretty but pretty sure I have all those colors :(. I’ve thought about picking up one of the compacts but I’ll wait-too much eyeshadow already!

    I’m excited about this collection too. Even though the lip colors are sheer, I’m still going to check them out especially the Only You Lipstick.

    The packaging is cute, but nothing really stands out for me here. I’d rather save my money toward some Lipstick Queen or Bite products!

    I’m a little disappointed. I’m pale with pigmented lips, so the lippies are too sheer, and the palette is darker than I had hoped from other photos. Thanks for sharing these, they help in the decision making! Pretty, but I wanted more color from the lip products and softer washes from the eyes. I’m sure they’ll look lovely on some.

    The eyeshadow looks descent, but the lighter shimmer color looks so sheer as well. It would totally be a sell out if only everything is pigmented. They got the color right, beautiful peachy nude. Ehhh there’s better stuff out there. Thanks Muse!

    I love her music but for me, this looks too much like many, many other collections. How many dupes could you find from Tarte, Bobbi Brown, and even Urban Decay?
