About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I got mine and really love it. The lighter shades are more varied in person than they look in pictures. It’s just a perfect neutral palette for very fair skin like mine, that can’t use the darker and cooler browns found in a lot of palettes. The palette has so much thought put into it and is so beautiful.

Pops is the only shade that’s problematic for me. It’s a chunkier shimmer and has a ton of fallout. It needs a tacky base or glitter glue primer. It is really pretty on the lids or inner corner of the eyes, though. The rest of the shades are excellent: Soft and smooth and blendable, if a little powdery (typical of UD shadows).

yay!!!!!! I loved it too Rachel! It really is ideal for very pale or fair skin tones! I’m neither but it still worked out nicely on my medium fair skin 😀

I’m glad it’s been working for you, Muse. I’ve done a couple pin-up looks with it, and today I did a dramatic gold-gray-black smoky eye. I’m really enjoying it.

I just bought mine today, and as Rachel stated, there is more variation than I thought from photos. I haven’t swatched every shade, but so far I’m thinking this will easily become a staple palette for me. Serious is the most beautiful grey I’ve ever seen, and I can see Punk & Baby becoming a “go-to” pairing! Finally, if a palette *must* contain a gold shadow, can we please get something like 1987…?
