Bare Minerals The Stolen Heart Ready Color Boost Review & Swatches
The Bare Minerals The Stolen Heart Ready Color Boost is a new, limited edition highlighter slash blush that released with the Bare Minerals Lovescape Spring 2016 Collection on QVC.com recently.
I sort of have a love hate relationship with Bare Minerals Color Boost Palettes as some are terribly sheer where as others work great as both a blusher and a highlighter. Sadly, The Stolen Heart proved one of the sheerer ones.
Bare Minerals The Stolen Heart Ready Color Boost comes in the new Lovescape Trio Collection which is exclusively at QVC and also includes Bare Minerals Chase Your Dreams Marvelous Moxie Lipstick as well as the Bare Minerals The Instant Attraction Eyeshadow Palette. I don’t doubt, at some point, we’ll be able to purchase the Lovescape Spring Collection individually at Sephora.com, Ulta.com, Nordstrom.com, etc…but as of now the Ready Boost and two other products I mentioned come as a trio set, sold together for $41.
This Ready Color Boost comes housed in a gold mirrored compact that’s 0.3 oz in size. Beware, the compact collects fingerprints like a magnetic :-/
According to QVC this is a luminous peach flush shade. It contains two colors one of which is a terracotta bronze-y peach and the other is a soft shimmery beige peach. My skin is pretty dry at the moment and the paler shade is quite frosty so it did stick to my drier areas rather badly. I felt like the deeper blush/bronzer shade was very dense and I couldn’t pick up color all that well so I ended up with more highlighter versus color on my cheeks. Even when I swipe my finger across the blush shade I get very, very little color transfer. The actual powder is not only dense but has a mirror-like surface that proves impossible to swipe through with a brush or a fingertip. You can see this in my swatch as I swirled around the entire compact to get the swatch but the only shade that transferred was the highlighter.
If you’re expecting to use this as a radiant blush you’ll be disappointed as I find this only works as a highlighter as the color option is a bust. In the end, I only get a soft, luminous glow from the beige peach shade and that’s a bit too frosty for my liking.
I’m pretty sad at the performance here because up until now the other two pieces in this set were very, very lovely. Unfortunately, the Bare Minerals The Stolen Heart Ready Color Boost was no where near the same quality.
Oh well!
I’m still happy I purchased this trio.
Bare Minerals The Stolen Heart Ready Color Boost is available in the Bare Minerals Lovescape Trio which can purchased now at QVC.com.
