I happen to be a long term Benefit Playstick fan girl. But many they are so not great for my skin, little too dry! But needless to say I have a certain love affair with stick foundations. I love the quickie slick ’em on, blend ’em out, and go application. I’m a finger girl when it comes to application. No expensive brushes, no sponges, I just dab a bit on, blend out, and I’m out the door.

I don’t need nor do I desire heavy foundation cover so I always feel like sticks give me that sheer layer of color I want that evens out my skin tone and brightens up my complexion. Clinique Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick are great for those desiring sheerer coverage in a packaging that makes application quick, easy, mess-free, and one that travels easily for touch ups on the go.

Heads up, I purchased three of these bad boys but none of the shades are quite accurate. I finally settled on Capacious Chamois which Sephora calls a warm beige shade for very fair skin tones with golden undertones. That’s about right but I am not “very fair”, I’d call myself medium fair with medium undertones. The color is a smidge dark but it actually oxidizes a little and lightens up during application.

As you can see it comes in a chubby twist up stick which holds 0.21 oz of product. I LOVE this packaging. It stores easily, it travels easily, and most important its a quick swipe and go application. I typically swipe it down the sides of my nose and I blend outward. BOOM! DONE! I’m ready for the rest of my color cosmetics after that. I’d say coverage is sheer and builds easily enough but not enough that you’ll get medium or full coverage from this foundation. There’s enough coverage here to brighten up your complexion, even out skin tone, and possibly conceal very minor redness or darkness. You might need something more pigmented if you have harder to conceal imperfections. Personally I liked the color pay off. It was perfect for me. Sheer, very, very natural, and as per the name “nude” and second skin-like in finish. It was breathable, weightless, and it blended very easily.

The texture is very much a satin which worried me as I thought it would adhere to my drier cheeks. I didn’t have a problem at all though. The color laid soft and smooth on my drier areas and it looked like I didn’t even have makeup on at all. The wear time was fairly good at around seven hours with primer.

Clinique Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick isn’t a foundation everyone is going to like. But if you love minimal coverage that looks natural and wears weightlessly you’re bound to love this one!

What a useful product – especially when travelling as you don’t have the problem of the foundation bottle breaking. I am pleased that you found that this product worked well with your complexion. Thanks for the review.
