Physicians Formula Super CC Color-Correction + Care All-Over Blur CC Cream

Physicians Formula Super CC Color-Correction + Care All-Over Blur CC Cream ($14.95) is a new all-in-one moisturizer, primer, foundation and SPF that blurs imperfections, smooths, and corrects skin.

Let’s take a look!

Physicians Formula Super CC Color-Correction + Care All-Over Blur CC Cream is available in a single shade selection of Light/Medium and comes housed in a tube with an attached pump. This is formulated with a host of benefits and promises a multitasking formula that preps, primes, acts to protect skin with SPF 30, corrects, and even acts as foundation that blurs pores and imperfection while smoothing skin. They market it as something that can be worn alone or under makeup as a base.

Apparently it contains 3 color correcting pigments of green to address redness, pink to brighten and illuminate skin, and yellow to correct blue imperfections as well as warm up skin tones. It’s one shade so you can’t really see these color correcting pigments and it comes in a single shade of golden yellow beige. It’s actually a color that doesn’t work well for me as it seems to add further dullness to my already dull skin even though it applies fairly sheer.

This promises a little too many things and delivers on very few. For me it isn’t really a CC Cream especially if you’re likening it to CC Creams from Korea which are way more pigmented. I’d say it was a face primer formula at beast as although you can’t see it in my swatches the texture has a silicon-like consistency that will be suitable for oily skin or those with visible pores. I think it has the potential to blur the appearance of small visible pores and perhaps curb a little bit of shine. Aside from this I wouldn’t say it does much else.

This can’t act as a foundation as it isn’t pigmented enough to do so nor does it work well to correct the issues it supposedly addresses such as redness. I personally didn’t like the formula as it lays on top of my drier skin in a weird way. It kinda feels rough going on, yeah, don’t ask me what I even mean by that but it feels a little weird going on. I was worried it would start pilling but it didn’t. However, it’s a product that you know is there. It isn’t necessarily heavy or mask-like just, kinda sits there, on top of my skin in an unnatural way. I wouldn’t say this extended the wear of my foundation even though I used it as a facial primer.

All in all Physicians Formula Super CC Color-Correction + Care All-Over Blur CC Cream just seems pointless to me. I didn’t get the correcting benefits, didn’t feel it acts well as either a primer or a moisturizer (this does not feel hydrating to me), and I definitely wouldn’t say it can act as a foundation. The formula just wasn’t agreeing with me and although it promises a lot, it delivers nothing.

Physicians Formula Super CC Color-Correction + Care All-Over Blur CC Cream is launching now at drugstores.

Tried it, hated it. Exactly the same issues you had…it just sits unhelpfully on the skin and has the absolute worst, sallowest color I’ve ever seen. Ugh!!! Just thinking of how much I spent on it makes me mad. And whereas you’ve got dry skin, mine is extra oily, and I couldn’t even make it out of the house without a horrendous oil slick forming atop my skin…the kind that blotting sheets and loose powder only push around, I think because the molecules must be enormous (at least that’s my phony scientific reasoning). A few bucks more and I could’ve had am awesome mid-range CC cream! Never again, Physicians Formula. Never again.

aw sorry Rachel! It’s weird because it starts creamy but once applied it has this weird roughness? and just sits on my skin strangely!

For almost all of the reasons you listed, this may work for me. It looks like it might be yellow enough for me, which is a surprise since PF usually runs so pink to me! (Then again anything remotely neutral reads as either pink or orange on my skin.)
Shame it didn’t work for you but I’m curious about it now!

I am very wary of products that make such outrageous claims to be everything to everybody. I really just want a product that aims at a particular focus and does it well. Not surprised that this is a bit of a dud.

Physician’s Formula actually recommended I try this in place of their ABC Cushion which they sell they are not selling refills for. I am extremely disappointed in the company, why would they not sell refills for their Cushion when the tub clearly pops out and only has to be packaged separately? The Cushion runs out so fast that to be repurchasing compact after compact would be ridiculous, especially at the price of $17! I don’t see their cushion surviving for very long. Anyway, disappointed that this new thing they recommended is not even remotely close to their cushion. Sorry PF, going with another company that is not constantly trying to make a quick buck. Seems like all their recents products are ONLY trendy but not good quality.

why in the world would they recommend this instead of the cushion? It’s too VASTLY different products!? What in the world!

      • Joyce

I am thinking only because it is their newest CC. I asked if they could recommend the BB/CC cream that most closely resembled the cushion formula. I had never tried any of them and know they have several, so I was hoping they would help me. No such luck, lol.

I dunno what they are thinking as these are such vastly different formulas. Odd! Sephora https://www.musingsofamuse.com/2016/01/sephora-wonderful-cushion-foundation-review-swatches.htmlhas a new cushion makeup, unfortunately no refills yet available also It Cosmetics just launched a refill for their CC Fluid Cushion https://www.musingsofamuse.com/2014/06/cosmetics-cc-veil-beauty-fluid-foundation-review-swatches.html I don’t know if you fit in the shade range but maybe your best bet is to head to Asian brands for a cushion as almost all Asian cushions are refillable plus they are quite inexpensive. Hope this helps!? I really don’t understand why they would tell you try this in place of a cushion! This, for me, is more of a face primer not a coverage product!

Thanks for the recs! I love IT Cosmetics, especially their powder Celebration Foundation SPF 50 , talk about a fantastic quick all in one for oily skin. Guess for now I will stick with the IT YSBB CC+ Cream in the tube since the price almost seems like a bargain compared to buying refill cushions :D! I mean even their small travel size tube is only $15 and it has almost half an ounce. I will check out the Sephora cushion too…*wants reason to go test all the makeups*, lol.

My pleasure! 😀 let me know when you try them out love to hear your thoughts 😀

Does anyone have any ideas on how to mask the terrible smell of this cream? I just bought it and it looks fine on me, but it smells terrible!!

  • LINDA

Late to the party if this product was released in 2016 and the tube I bought a few days ago was still labeled as ‘new’. Sh*t. Should have checked the expiry date. I haven’t tried this CC cream on my face yet but tested a drop on the back of my hand. Felt like I was squeezing out a drop of hard-earned money. I just got back from Korea and it’s nothing like the CC creams there. All moisturizing and dewy and sweetly scented. The PF formula feels feather-light but the scent is sticky and chemical, strongly off-putting. The light-medium color is clean and has a slight blurring effect. But less in a backlit glow to your skin way, more in a cottony cocoon mask layered over it. I’ll try it on my face and see if I emerge a butterfly, a glowworm, a moth, or a grub. I’m not expecting too much though. Just was looking for less hassle than liquid foundation under a mask in SoCali heat.
