Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick Review & Swatches
Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick ($6.29) is a new permanent range of multitasking lipstick that launched with the Rimmel Spring 2016 Collection. Rimmel the Only 1 Lipstick actually isn’t a new formula as it launched in the UK for Fall 2015.
The general idea of The Only 1 Lipstick formula is that it multitasks to provide long lasting color and wear along with a moisture and a comfortable to wear formula. I have to say I’m not a HUGE, huge Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick so I was a little skeptical of the Only 1 Lipstick formula.
Oh and hello, they are Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off at Ulta.com too plus $3.50 off using promo code 303228.
Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick is available in 12 shades and comes in a sleek black tube with a slanted design for easy of application. I have to say it’s a very different look for Rimmel Lipstick and I like it.
The first thing that demands attention here is the fact these lipsticks have a very strong fragrance and flavor. It’s kinda a fruity rose type of flavor and fragrance. I didn’t mind it so much but I think it comes across just as strong as Milani Color Statement Lipstick. So if you’re sensitive, you probably won’t love this element of the formula.
If you can get past the flavor and fragrance the formula is pretty delightful and a truly great addition to Rimmel’s permanent range.
The texture and formula on these lipsticks is superb. Truly a testimony to great drugstore lipstick. They have a slick, easy glide across lips with a smooth, slightly creamy consistency that feels like melted butter during application. You really have to put little pressure on the bullet during application as the formula practically glide across lips by itself. No tugging, no skipping, no patchiness. Just smooth, even, soft, extremely pigmented color with a nice shine. My lips are terribly dry at the moment but I still felt these looked amazing on plus they felt quite delightfully hydrating for the first two hours of wear. All the seven of the shades I tried provide opaque color on a single application and built to gorgeous intensity if I wanted to go even bolder with my look. I loved they had a little hint of a shine as well in the single! Nothing sparkly or glitter, but they looked glossy! Color wore for five hours before fading but during that time I didn’t have an issue with the color losing intensity, migrating, feathering, or drying my lips out. In fact, as I mentioned, my lips felt pleasantly moist for about two hours into the wear.
If you’re looking for a new budget friendly lipstick with a fabulously gorgeous formula that’s lightweight and easy to wear with excellent pigmentation truly the Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick Collection is well worth exploring.
I bet you can’t wait away from the display with only one shade.
