Sephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Blush Review & Swatches
Sephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Blush ($20) a new waterproof airbrush blush mist available in four shades that launched with the Sephora Spring 2016 Collection. This comes in a 1.3 oz aerosol much like Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation.
It’s a novel idea but it proves a pain to apply and it’s quite expensive as well.
Let’s take a look!
Sephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Blush is a novel idea and might be a great pick up for those who enjoy Spray Foundations. Personally, I thought it was super fun and it had some a few great benefits but for the most part I thought it was expensive and a little difficult to apply.
This comes in a fine mist aerosol can that’s 1.3 oz in size. After using it and realizing how much I had to use I realized I spend $20 on a very little amount of blush. I mean, for example, if you purchased a NARS Blush it’ll set you back $30 but you’re getting 0.16 oz. So for $10 more you get 15 x times more blush from NARS and let’s face it that blush is going to last you well over a year. You’d be lucky to get a month maybe two out of Perfection Mist Airbrush Blush.
But let’s digress a second and find out why it won’t last.
This isn’t something you’re going to want to spray directly onto your face for obvious reasons. Just in case those reasons aren’t as obvious as I think let’s go over ’em. First off spraying from the can gets it everywhere and possibly in your eyes which you don’t want to do. Secondly, you have no control when you’re misting it directly from the can onto your face. And third, it can potentially get on your clothes!
Now you can spray it on your fingers and tap it onto your face but this isn’t really a great option. You can also spray it on the back of your hand and gently tap a brush into it and apply this way but I feel it applies to sheer using this method. As you can see from my swatch below it sprays out kinda of sheer so you really need to spray a whole lot to arm to pick up color. And finally, the best option, apply it directly to your brush. However, just like the arm method I find application on my brush means that the bristles swallow up the color quickly so I feel the need to mist quite a bit on to get the color built up. So you see what I mean about going through it quickly huh?
I purchased the Such a Peach shade and it is positively delightful. This is a golden peach that gives cheeks a radiant glow. The shade quite reminds me of Sephora Double Contouring Blush in Coral Flush. Not only is it gorgeous but it wears quite long at around eight hours and beyond without fading. It also has a very smooth, even airbrushed finish that doesn’t adhere to drier areas. Although I will say it might accentuate pores due to the baby fine shimmer in the shade but I don’t have visible pores so I’m just assuming this.
As nice as it is I think Sephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Blush is expensive for what you do get. If you want to try this “technology” you can maybe indulge in the new Bairly Sheer Spray-On Blush which is $9.99 at Ulta.com.
I think it’s a nice product with excellent wear and the color was delightful. But the application is a bit messy and I’m using a lot more product than I really need plus add in the price and smaller size and well, it might not be worth a pick up sadly.
But hey, if you do want to try it grab it at Sephora.com.
Anyone give this blush a whirl yet?
