About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. No! I will not be tempted by my weakness for purple eye shadow! I have been burned by Pur Cosmetics way too many times; they are one of the brands I have sworn off completely. Purple eye shadows aside, I will NOT be tricked again.

Oh, no. Is their formula not good? I was actually tempted to try them (for the first time) based on this palette.

I have to say that I have the soul mattes palette and I’ve almost hit pan on the whole thing! It is,by far,the best matte palette. I use it for the base every eye look. I’m going to purchase this new palette online. Sight unseen. That’s how good it is. Notherwise even kidding. I plan on buying another Soul mattes because truly I cannot imagine being without it in my arsenal.

I ended up ordering it; I tried to go to Ulta to swatch but they didn’t have it on display yet. It arrives tomorrow. I figure if I hate the formula, I can always return it. Let me know what you think!!

In my experience with more than a few Pur Minerals palettes, the texture is dry, chalky and not pigmented. But I think everyone’s experience and expectations are different. But for the price point, I expect better performance.

Thanks; I haven’t been able to find many reviews on their eyeshadows so this helps (although, that might be indicative in of itself)!

Wanted to follow-up since I purchased the palette. The formula was okay (I would rate it a 4 out of 5) but I ended up returning it because the palette only closed by tying the decorative ribbon in a bow. There’s no magnet and no snap closure. It’s cardboard with a ribbon. It doesn’t really stay closed. I knew that was going to drive me nuts if I ever had to take it anywhere so I returned it. BTW, the stock photo doesn’t show it, but the names of the shade are printed on the palette as well as in the back–which I like.

Thanks for the update Agona! I had it in my cart (I wanna stock up on Tarte Mascara at Ulta on the 26th when it goes on sale) now I can safely remove it 😀
