Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipsticks

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick ($21) launches in 16 shades selections recently for Spring 2016 at Sephora.com. This formula promises the staying powder of a stain and the color payoff of a liquid lipstick with a matte finish as well as avocado oil and vitamin E to keep lips moist.

I didn’t really love the Too Faced La Matte Color Drenched Matte Lipsticks so I was kinda sorta on the fence about Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick. Add in the fact, that Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipsticks aren’t getting the best reviews around plus I dislike liquid lipstick in general and I was a little worried about this purchase.

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick (0.4 oz) come housed in an unusual triangular-shaped clear bottle with a sponge-tipped applicator for application. The packaging is quite different and pretty.

I think the formula might take some getting used to if you enjoy liquid lipsticks as this is like no formula I’ve tried in this category before. I find the formula a lot thinner in consistency than other liquid lipsticks I personally own or have tried in the past. It’s not only thin but a bit runnier as well but this didn’t hinder the application process at all and it applied perfectly fine with a smooth, even finish on my drier, flakier lips without accentuating dryness. I failed to see the moisture factor here but I didn’t feel like they drained moisture from my lips either. They do take a few seconds to set and remain “wet” for about 50 or so seconds before setting to a matte finish.

I read a lot of reviews that they clung to drier areas, flaked, and one of the bigger rants was the fact that the formula was so thin. Personally I didn’t experience these issues at all. They actually wear really lightweight and I didn’t even feel like I had anything at all on my lips all day. The finish remains smooth, even, and the color intense through a 12 hour wear with eating and drinking in that time frame. They aren’t easy to remove so you do need to scrub a little at the end of the night to get them off even when using an oil-based makeup remover. This I disliked because it made my lips raw and chapped. But I wouldn’t say the formula dried my lips out at all during the wear.

Personally, I’m not a long wearing lipstick kinda girl but these Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick were quite nice. Lightweight, pigmented, easy to apply, and long wearing these should be a hit for those wanting a new take on liquid lipsticks.

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick are available now at Sephora.com.

Yes, and twice and have not worn them again. 🙁 I think I’m done with all the matte lip sticks. Again you make them look great!

No go? Too dry for you? I was surprised that I liked these. Thankfully I had a good experience as I was bracing for the worst!

So my question for you , as the expert that you are, comparing all the liquid lipsticks out there is? I’m in a buget , so i love Color Pop liquid lipstick and out of all the brands , for me this is the best and afforable , with tones of colors i wouldn’t spend more money on liquid lipsticks if i have Color pop , for you wich is the one brand you recomend is worth ?

    • Isabella Muse

I’m not an expert 🙂 I’m not really a fan of liquid lipsticks so I don’t really have a ton of recommendations on ones I like. These too faced ones were quite nice and I also recently reviewed the Jordana ones which I loved. I prefer some of the newer hybrid liquid lipsticks from the Revlon HD line and Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid which have full color coverage a moister formula.

      • Erika F

Oh ok , i ‘ll take that recommendation into consideration , thanks for your time , have a great day

I wanted to buy ‘sell out’ but it had ‘sold out’ on the Sephora website. 🙁 I’ve tried a few liquid lipsticks. I like them but my husband is always commenting that they look so dry and dull. He says that they remind him of clay and paste! My favourite one is probably Kylie Jenner’s as my lips feel super soft with it on. I like the ones from Gerard cosmetics too. Colourpop didn’t really work out for me. On your recommendation Muse, I’ll be checking out Revlon and Maybelline today! Also, I’m holding off on checking out with the new Bare Minerals palette because I’m eagerly awaiting your review! You’re my favourite beauty blogger!

    • Isabella Muse

lol sorry I laughed at that first sentence Laura 🙂 I haven’t tried the Kylie ones but they are getting some huge raves! I’m looking forward to checking them out! The Revlon/Maybelline are hybrids, so they aren’t quite as long wearing as some of these new mattes. I hope you like them! They are interesting and I like them a lot! Aw thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lela

Just wanted to say that before I read your email everyday, I get a cup of coffee and relax. Love your recommendations. Thanks for all your research as it has saved me both time and money.

    • Isabella Muse

aw thank you Lela! That totally made my day 🙂 I appreciate your readership so very much!

  • Zovesta

Hmm! The review is appreciated as always, Muse. =) I think I might pass, though. This is a bit too expensive for a formula that won’t blow me away.

  • Irmaris

Hi Muse! I’m new to your blog and I must say I enjoy it. I have a question, have you tried the Kat Von D everlasting liquid lipstick? How these compares to the KVD? Thanks

    • Isabella Muse

Hi Irmaris nice to meet you 🙂 And welcome! I have. I think KVD is a little drier for me and the consistency is a little thicker but the wear is way more longer than the Too Faced version. Hope this helps?

  • Amanda

Why are you so awesome! I second the revlon hd matte creams. I have so many colors. I was actually going to buy a Sephora matte cream until I read your blog on this too faced one. I have to say I enjoy it much more than the kat Von d liquid matte which is soooo drying. And I’m not really a fan of matte creams at all. But they do stay so it’s love hate. Thanks again for all your useful posts!

    • Isabella Muse

aw thanks Amanda! I’m glad you found the post useful 🙂 I hear ya on the HD Mattes, I really liked those!

  • Yelena

The color sell out looks amazing on you! I just ordered it online at sephora as my 100 point perk! Finally a 100 pt perk that is exciting? Atleast for me lol
