I Vote We Bring Back The Peach, Coral, and Orange Makeup Trend for Summer 2016

summer 2016 makeup trends

Summer 2016 Makeup Collections are starting to trickle across the Internet and I’m cringing mentally inside a little bit as I see more and more brands focusing on bronzers and contouring. Will the contouring trend ever end!?

I vote we bring back the peach, coral, and orange makeup trend for Summer 2016 looks please?

Does anyone remember the Bobbi Brown Cabana Coral Corals Collection? Sigh that was so my thing!

How great would it be if Urban Decay concentrated solely on peaches, corals, and oranges for Summer 2016? The good news is Too Faced apparently already is! There new Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette is turning into quite an exciting release for many fans!

As we get nearer to Summer makeup releases I have hopes more brands will embrace these great shades for the warmer weather.

Do you likes peaches, corals, and oranges?

Which brand would you like to see embrace these shades?

If not peachy shades of color for Summer which shades would you like to see trending? Aquas and blues maybe? Something else?

Do share!

Did you see the new Dior palette. Orange as orange could be. Looks promising.

  • Kate

    I 2nd your motion

I still have a Bobbi Brown Cabana Coral pallette

  • Jay

I wear orange blush year round lol, especially in the spring/summer!! I think an orange blush is more flattering than a pink blush on my skin tone. The first brand I thought of was Bobbi Brown too! MUFE could also do an amazing peachy/orange/coral collection. I think mixing warm and cool colors will be the next big thing. I like sultry greens and golds personally..maybe throw a purple or blue in the mix.

  • Kelli

I agree 100%!!! I absolutely adore and love corals and peachy tones. I love a peachy eye with a pop of turquoise liner . A natural eyeshadow look, but add some “sparkle” with a glitter liner or pop of turquoise. That is Summer in my opinion! !
Also I have to agree… the contouring is out of hand. I’m over it. I’ve contoured my entire life. It’s called bronzer, blush and a highlight. LOL!

    • Isabella Muse

Sounds about right to me Kelli! 😀 Like! And yeah, contouring, please no more It’s enough 🙁 even tired of correcting and that trend only just began!

      • kaitlyn

I’m not a fan of the correcting becoming a trend, but I am excited that we finally have more than just Bobbi Brown and Eve Pearl. Those super-creamy correctors are a creasy mess under my eyes! I’m going to try the UD, because the concealer works perfectly for me, and almost nothing works under my eyes.

  • Zovesta

I LOVE peaches, oranges, and corals, but my skintone can’t pull them off, lol. Still, I’m all for it! I think they’re general summer colours anyway, trends or no…. =)

  • Carol

Yes and Yes! Yes please to orange, coral and peachy shades! They are the epitome of summer in my book. Can’t wait for that TF palette. And yes, I am sick of the contouring trend. We get it. Most people already own some sort of bronzer so we don’t need every single cosmetic brand to release a contouring palette! (Same with strobing…it’s highlighting and we’ve been doing it for years). Great post, Muse! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

aw thanks Carol! and thanks for sharing your thoughts <3!

  • kaitlyn

Yes! I’m so sick and tired of things like highlighting, contouring, and color-correcting (which have been around for many, many years), suddenly becoming ‘trends’. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with any of those. I’ve been doing them for almost 10 years. Whoop. De. Doo. Also, this pastel trend… I’m sure it’s lovely for those few who can pull it off, but why go with something so limiting? Oranges, corals, and golds, that’s what summer should be about!!!

  • Tara

I agree 100%. Coral was my main color for my wedding way back in August 2011 and I still love it. I just saw pics of the Urban Decay Summer 2016 collection and it is all bronzey stuff with one baby pink eyeliner :(. I was hoping they’d come out with a peachey Naked palette or something, lol. I love the look of the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, though

  • Rachel R.

I love these kinds of shades, especially corals. It’s so fun to rock a neon bright orange lip in the summer, too.

  • Carolyn2

Noooooooo! ( lol ). Can’t wear peach or corals!

They’re pretty….but I’ll have to stick with my neutrals and plums. Zzzzzz. 🙂

  • Anne

I can’t get enough of coral in the summer. And I’m still searching for The Perfect Coral nail polish. So, yes, I agree, I want this trend!

  • Cheryl

I LOVE peaches and corals and have resorted to wearing various shades of blush as eyeshadow, because I have not seen a good peach based collection that is devoid of glitter. I like satin and Matt shades, and may be a hint of Schimmer on the lid, but the glittery shades are just too much. Any suggestions for affordable eyeshadow palettes that are heavy on the peaches and lighton the shimmer?

    • Isabella Muse

Aw I hear ya! It’s true many peaches bring the shimmer! I’m waiting on Too Faced’s new peach palette, it doesn’t LOOK overly shimmery in photos I’ve seen so I’m hoping it isn’t heavy on metallic/shimmery joy. I don’t mind some shimmer just not disco ball shimmer. Honestly, I have tons of peaches but nothing that is matte or free of shimmer! Damn shame! Maybe someone else can jump in and rec something!

  • TwirlyGirly

Anyone that still has the Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year for 2012 collection (I do!) – Tangerine Tango – will be all set!

But I am anxiously awaiting the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette as well. Perfect colors to enhance my blue (leaning to grey) eyes.

  • Dora

I don’t love orange blush on me or lipstick — although I WISH I could wear it. Think it looks gorgeous on olive and darker skin tones. Love a juicy orange nail polish in the summer, tho. But sure, I’m fine with this trend (since I don’t even always follow trends anyway). And contouring — real contouring — only looks good in photos. I mean, I do wear (well-blended) bronzer, blush, and highlight but not trying to create hollows and shadows, just add some life to my face!

  • Michelle

Honestly, I don’t feel that a lovely orange lippie on a sun tanned face ever goes out of style. I’m with you Doll!

  • Meagan

I think the warmer colors would better represent the summer. So I agree with bring those colors back! Thanks for sharing!

  • Maria Hammill

I love love love peaches and oranges, makes my green/grey eyes look much greener. I need a tan to be able to wear them well on my cheeks and lips though.

    • Isabella Muse

Me too! 😀 I adore these shades so much! SPF first, faux tan 😀
