Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color Review & Swatches
I recently came across the new Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color at Walgreens, which are available in 12 shades. Those embracing the liquid matte lipstick trend should be quite happy about this launch as these are a budget friendly pick at $4.99 plus they come in some bright, vibrant shades.
Take a look!
When I first tried Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color (0.11 oz) I thought they were quite comparable to the new Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipsticks as both have a thin, slow to set formula that wears all day.
Jordana’s formula should be a hit for those who love a long wearing formula that’s lightweight. It’s also a great formula for anyone who doesn’t suffer from drier lips. Personally, I don’t really need my lipstick to wear all day. I’m ok with touch ups when and if I need them. I feel a little weird, and uncomfortable eating with lipstick on and I also feel strange having the same application of lipstick on for eight or more hours. This can likely be chalked up as me being a weirdo, but I just don’t really like long wearing lipstick anything.
On that note, I will say I realize many people really love these new long wearing formulas and Jordana’s Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color does fall into the long wear lipstick group. This is a formula that doesn’t come off until you remove it and even then you might experience issues getting it off if you don’t use an oil-based remover.
The formula is quite thin and applies with a smooth, even finish that doesn’t fall into natural lip lines. It does take a moment to set but when it does it’s pretty much budge-proof. I had no issues with feathering, migrating, or smudging. The formula remains fairly smooth and very weightless for 12 solid hours which is how long I wore them before removing. I never felt they were sucking moisture from my lips and in all honesty, they felt like I had absolutely nothing on my lips at all. Both shades I purchased provided full coverage on a single application and were bright, bold, and vibrant with a smooth, matte finish that never looked shiny or glossy.
They do have a cherry plastic-y flavor or fragrance that’s very synthetic so sensitive users might wish to avoid.
I’m not huge on long wearing lipstick but at this price, I can’t deny Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color delivers an excellent formula at a very affordable price. Apparently they are even cheaper at Kmart for $2.99 each, but I purchased mine at Walgreens at $4.99 each.
