Kat Von Shade + Light Eye Contour Quad

The Kat Von Shade + Light Eye Contour Quad ($26) is a new eye palette launching in four shade selections that include 4 matte shades of eyeshadow used to contour, define, and highlight eyes.

Each quad includes 3 shades used to defining, contouring, and highlighting eyes as well as one base shade to prep lids. There’s also an illustrated insert that comes with the palette showing you exact color placement.

The idea behind the palettes is to lift, define, and widen eyes

Shades include:

  • Sage for brown eyes
  • Plum for green eyes
  • Rust for blue eyes
  • Smoke for all eye colors

Considering the new blush contouring duos were a bust I’m a little scared to try out these new Shade + Light Eye Contour Quads. They do promise a silky formula so let’s hope they aren’t along the lines of the blushing duos because those were pretty bad!

The Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Quads are available now at Sephora.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. So I decided to take a chance but “only” 50/50 since I ordered “just” two: plum and smoke, colors which I always go for anyway. If they are keepers, I may go for the other two…

I just got these yesterday (Plum and Rust) and WOW! Totally impressed! I will get the other 2 colors next week. I was comparing the colors to the Shade and Light palette because some of the colors looked “similiar”, and let’s get real the cost of 2 I have could purchased a new big palette, (2 palettes is 6 bucks more) but NOPE! There WAS a difference in the colors. And the lasting power?, I put it to the test last night. When I got home after working a 10 hour shift it still looked like I had just applied it, (mind you there was a wee bit and I mean weeeeeeee (holding 2 fingers close together) bit of fading, but acceptable to my standards. LOL. The pigment is crazy!!! I will be able to give my kohl eyeliners a rest for a while for my top lid. ONLY complaint, they are on the powdery side, so I have to be even MORE lighthanded than had trained myself to be otherwise they will flick everywhere and to me that’s wasting product. but I CANNOT wait to do a real dark smokey eye with these babies (just not at work LOL otherwise I would scare them). Plus with this whole Too Faced debacle, the KVD shadows are now going to be my go to “high end” shadows from now on.
I’m rambling again, talk to ya later! 🙂
