Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector Review & Swatches
Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector ($34) is a new tinted moisturizer skin perfector that launched with the Urban Decay Summer 2016 Collection. This is an oil-free formula that provides lightweight coverage, moisture, and SPF protection while acting to perfect skin and give it a flawless, smooth appearance.
I was excited about this launch because I’m all about lightweight coverage particularly in the Summer months. I immediately cracked it open yesterday and started wearing it and I’ve been wearing it all day today so I thought I’d share some of my thoughts on the formula.
Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector comes housed in a 1.3 oz squeeze pump tube. It deserved to be mentioned I struggled with the pump on all six shades I tried. I had to squeeze the tube to get the product flowing into the pump. A little brisk shaking sometimes helped but in most cases I had to squeeze from the bottom which ended up screwing up the tube majorly. Depending on how anal you are about maintaining pristine packaging this might be annoying. And it was not a fluke with a single shade, it happened with all the shades I tried.
Urban Decay dubs Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector a sheer foundation that acts as a skin treatment as well. It promises “ultra definition skin” aka flawless skin thanks to the formula that blurs imperfections as well as light-diffusing spheres that act to diffuse the appearance of pores and imperfections.
The formula contains peptides, vitamins, and a range of moisturizing ingredients as well as SPF 20 and a plant-derived ingredient that promises to improve the tone and texture of skin. I can’t honestly say if my skin looks any better as of yet since I’ve only been using it a very, very short time but I’ll update this post if I notice any improvement in overall tone and texture with continued use.
Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector is an improvement on Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Beauty Balm on many levels. This is a product I personally love but I can’t deny that the Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector is the better formula thanks to the fact it has a larger selection of shades, is a more moisturizing formula, and also provides better coverage, sheerer yes, but much better than Nake Skin Beauty Balm offers.
So for me this is a win although I do wish it had a higher level of sun protection. I have drier skin but that’s about my only issue as my skin is fairly resilient and not prone to break outs, blemishes, or an visible pores. I look for sheerer coverage in my foundation products to even out skin tone and ease dullness and this is in fact what this does plus add in the highly moisturizing formula and you have a win! This is a weird formula as it is a nice, light creamy consistency but during swatching it sort of pills a little bit as if it has a built in primer. It does contain silicones so that might be where that pilling action occurs however, this does not happen on my face. Application is so easy and the foundation melts right into skin with a light, refreshing feel that’s dewy to the touch at first but sets to a soft, smooth finish within a few seconds. I’m not sure how oily skin will feel about this as I didn’t experience shine or oil from it but it is highly moisturizing during the initial application and wear. My skin was very smooth and soft through the wear! This provides sheerer coverage but there’s plenty enough to even out, brighten skin tone, and conceal any minor redness or darkness. This isn’t going to be your best friend if you require medium or full coverage. I find the wear does vary depending on whether or not if you set it with powder. I dislike setting with powder since I have drier skin but I tested it as such and got about seven hours of wear. Without powder it wears a little shorter at around five hours without oxidizing.
Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector is a delightful tinted moisturizer that provides plenty of hydration and a gorgeous, smooth finish on skin that brightens up my entire complexion and gives it a fresh, flawless appearance. As we head into the warmer weather this is going to be my best friend!
Loves it!
