Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector ($34) is a new tinted moisturizer skin perfector that launched with the Urban Decay Summer 2016 Collection. This is an oil-free formula that provides lightweight coverage, moisture, and SPF protection while acting to perfect skin and give it a flawless, smooth appearance.

I was excited about this launch because I’m all about lightweight coverage particularly in the Summer months. I immediately cracked it open yesterday and started wearing it and I’ve been wearing it all day today so I thought I’d share some of my thoughts on the formula.

Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector

Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector comes housed in a 1.3 oz squeeze pump tube. It deserved to be mentioned I struggled with the pump on all six shades I tried. I had to squeeze the tube to get the product flowing into the pump. A little brisk shaking sometimes helped but in most cases I had to squeeze from the bottom which ended up screwing up the tube majorly. Depending on how anal you are about maintaining pristine packaging this might be annoying. And it was not a fluke with a single shade, it happened with all the shades I tried.

Urban Decay dubs Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector a sheer foundation that acts as a skin treatment as well. It promises “ultra definition skin” aka flawless skin thanks to the formula that blurs imperfections as well as light-diffusing spheres that act to diffuse the appearance of pores and imperfections.

The formula contains peptides, vitamins, and a range of moisturizing ingredients as well as SPF 20 and a plant-derived ingredient that promises to improve the tone and texture of skin. I can’t honestly say if my skin looks any better as of yet since I’ve only been using it a very, very short time but I’ll update this post if I notice any improvement in overall tone and texture with continued use.

Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector is an improvement on Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Beauty Balm on many levels. This is a product I personally love but I can’t deny that the Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector is the better formula thanks to the fact it has a larger selection of shades, is a more moisturizing formula, and also provides better coverage, sheerer yes, but much better than Nake Skin Beauty Balm offers.

So for me this is a win although I do wish it had a higher level of sun protection. I have drier skin but that’s about my only issue as my skin is fairly resilient and not prone to break outs, blemishes, or an visible pores. I look for sheerer coverage in my foundation products to even out skin tone and ease dullness and this is in fact what this does plus add in the highly moisturizing formula and you have a win! This is a weird formula as it is a nice, light creamy consistency but during swatching it sort of pills a little bit as if it has a built in primer. It does contain silicones so that might be where that pilling action occurs however, this does not happen on my face. Application is so easy and the foundation melts right into skin with a light, refreshing feel that’s dewy to the touch at first but sets to a soft, smooth finish within a few seconds. I’m not sure how oily skin will feel about this as I didn’t experience shine or oil from it but it is highly moisturizing during the initial application and wear. My skin was very smooth and soft through the wear! This provides sheerer coverage but there’s plenty enough to even out, brighten skin tone, and conceal any minor redness or darkness. This isn’t going to be your best friend if you require medium or full coverage. I find the wear does vary depending on whether or not if you set it with powder. I dislike setting with powder since I have drier skin but I tested it as such and got about seven hours of wear. Without powder it wears a little shorter at around five hours without oxidizing.

This sounds lovely. It is just what I’m looking for for Summer. Once it hits stores I’m going to check out the shades in person. Thanks for the review & swatches, Muse.

  • Sandra

That medium dark shade is calling me! I’m just about to wrap up my bare minerals tinted hydrating gel cream (not a huge fan, but I’m not letting that purchase go to waste), and this baby will definitely take its place for those days that I want to just run out the door. So excited to try this!!!

  • Scarlett

I have a question, do you still have the original beauty balm.? What shade compares to the light shade? I ran out of it months ago and would love a replacement.

    • Isabella Muse

There aren’t exact dupes for it here Scarlett but Medium Light comes the closest.

    • Isabella Muse

Sorry delayed reply Jane! I’m behind replying to comments! Yes it does!

  • Janessa

I was so hoping you’d do a review on this! I love CC creams and tinted moisturizers the the summer. How do you like this compared to the It CC+??

    • Isabella Muse

This is a lot less pigmented Janessa compared to the It formula. Also thinner, easier to absorb, and a lot lighter and hydrating. Def two very different formulas 🙂 I like it more than It CC+ (hopefully we aren’t talking about CC+ Fluid because if we are forget I said I like it more haha)!

      • Janessa

haha! The CC+ cream, I have’t felt the need to try the fluid yet. I might give the UD a spin this summer 🙂

        • Isabella Muse

Ok cool! 🙂 Fluid wins for me over all others haha! 🙂 but yeah, basically this is lighter, bit more hydrating, less creamy, little more runnier, less coverage 🙂 there, done! 🙂

  • Nicole

So happy to see your review on this! Do you know how this compares to BM complexion rescue? I really want a lighter, put on with your fingers and go product for summer.

    • Isabella Muse

This is it Nicole 🙂 Lighter, sheerer, put it on with fingers, and go! It’s considerably more hydrating, and thinner in consistency. I think it wears a little bit of a shorter time compared to Complexion Rescue though!

  • Tina

Hi. Thanks for the review. Can I ask what shade you found best? The light looks very pink and the medium light very yellow! Thanks

  • Debi

Wondering if this would work UNDER a foundation? Blurring imperfections and hydrating. Thoughts???

    • Isabella Muse

You can def wear it under foundation but if you want to blur pores/imperfections and hydrate a primer would likely be a better option!

  • Melody

How would you say this compares to the It cosmetics cc creame? Does this have similar coverage?

    • Isabella Muse

This is lighter, sheerer, Melody. They do not have the same coverage, this is considerably more sheer.

  • Kristen

Wow thanks so much for this review! I definitely want to check this out.
How did you find this formula compared to say a Korean BB cream or a CC Cream?
The packaging of this instantly reminded me of Korean BB creams (like Missha or Etude House)! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

It really not comparable to Korean BB/CC Creams. The texture is lighter and the coverage is much sheerer! Hope this helps!

  • Tara

These are restricted in Canada. It’s too bad, since I was really looking forward to trying the Light shade 🙁

      • Ashleigh

We have different regulations of SPF and companies wanting to sell products in Canada that claim SPF protection need to do a second round of tests. With Canada as a smaller market many companies don’t bother and just don’t send us their products 🙁

  • Sherry

I’m usually a medium light in products like this but it looks very yellow. Which would you recommend for someone with light medium and pink/neutral undertones?

    • Michele

Hi Sherry, I just bought medium light tonight and it’s def a yellow undertone….Muse said above that because of that, she went with Medium. HTH 🙂

  • Helen

I read your review on bb rescue as well and I can’t quite decide which one I should try out! I’m going to spend my summer in Asia volunteering and I want a sheer foundation/tinted moisturizer for the days where I want a little luxury. My skin is combination, but I’m more concerned about the humidity. Which one would be the best choice?

    • Isabella Muse

My pleasure! Thanks Madeline! She actually stole the photos and my review word for word. Sigh! I went ahead and asked her to remove it, thanks for pointing that out!

  • Priya

    Hi, great review thank you!
Just wondering if you have tried the big easy by benefit and how it compares to this (which one you prefered). Also I’m a shade 6.0 in the Naked skin foundation, what shade would you suggest in this for me?

  • shenelle

which do you prefer bare minerals complexion rescue tint or urban decay naked skin one and done hybrid complexion perfector?

    • Isabella Muse

Not really 🙁 Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Aging Perfector is a nice lightweight, sheer coverage foundation. It isn’t a dupe for this but maybe that might be a better choice if you’re on a budget.
