Etude House Berry Delicious Color in Liquid Lips Juicy Review & Swatches
Etude House Berry Delicious Color in Liquid Lips Juicy is a new, limited edition fluid gel lip stain that launched with the Etude House Berry Delicious Collection for Spring 2016.
I tend to avoid Etude House’s lip stains. Well, really, I mostly avoid Korean lip stains in general as I find their formulas terribly drying. But that didn’t prevent me from purchasing five of the Berry Delicious Color in Liquid Lips Juicy shades. I guess I’m a glutton for punishment but I had to try these.
And I’m glad I did grab a few shades as I love them.
If you’ve had issues with dry lip stains in the past I’d highly suggest this formula as it is much, much kinder to lips. Etude House released these in ten shade selections and each comes in special edition strawberry themed packaging. They do have a faint sweet fragrance and flavor that’s berry-ish but not full on strawberry.
The formula is a little difficult to describe as a lot is happening here. The texture is a watery fluid that has a gel-like consistency with a wet, juicy finish as per the name. I wouldn’t say it’s a shiny finish but it does have a wet look! Almost as if you took a sip of water and some dewiness remains on your lips. I find the formula very pleasantly cool and refreshing with an easy application that doesn’t migrate around. The wetness stays for about an hour into the wear but disappears after that leaving behind a mere staining effect. I find color and wear varies from shade to shade. The two lightest pink shades I purchased (PK014 and PK015) wore the shorter time with the least staining left behind at around three hours. The darker reds I purchased were much, much better in terms of pigmentation and longer wear. I thought these had the strongest wear at around six hours and the colors were much, much more intense compared to the pinks. RD306 was the longest wearing red at six hours. Of course, the wetness wore away after about an hour but the stain itself remained a deep, rich red for at least five more hours after.
Initially these feel very moist and lovely on lips but I wouldn’t say they were moisturizing through the wear but they weren’t drying either. I thought they were very comfortably with a lightweight, barely there finish that wasn’t drying in the least.
You don’t have to go too wild picking up a variety of shades as I felt many of them looked a lot alike on my lips. The stand out shade for me was RD306 as this was a very rich, pigmented red!
Etude House Berry Delicious Color in Liquid Lips Juicy were a pleasant surprise and one of the better stains I’ve tried from Korea. I really enjoyed these and I don’t some of the shades were rather outstandingly pigmented and beautiful on lips!
