MUA Makeup Academy Nude Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
I picked up MUA Makeup Academy Nude Eyeshadow Palette earlier this week at CVS since all MUA is on sale 20% Off. I have to say I haven’t really been exploring MUA since it launched here in the US at CVS because the range is a lot less larger in the UK versus what we have here in the US. And the prices are a lot higher!
I didn’t even know about the MUA Makeup Academy Eyeshadow Palettes that were available at CVS until just recently since I never bother looking at the display when I’m at CVS. Bad makeup addict am I right?
The MUA Makeup Academy Nude Eyeshadow Palette would be a lovely palette if it was cheaper. Even on sale at $12 this is still too high a price to pay for an eyeshadow palette like this. The palette is worth, perhaps $7.99 at best.
On that note, I will say it’s packed with some lovely shades that have a very soft, easy to blend formula.
The palette comes housed in a plastic compact much like the Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette with a small soft bristled brush inside that isn’t much use since it is a bit too tiny. This contains ten shades of shadow where as Maybelline’s newer, larger palettes contain 12 and are cheaper at around $9.99 to $12.99 depending where you purchase them. The cheaper price is irrelevant though because Maybelline’s formula isn’t terribly good so you might be willing to spend more on the MUA Palette which has a better formula.
If you like softer, buttery eyeshadows you’ll enjoy this palette. The palette has a selection of both matte and satin shades. I thought the satin were best as the mattes were a little bit sheerer and difficult to blend without looking patchy. The satins had better pigmentation and blended a lot easier. The shades due tend to go muddy during the blending process so I found two maybe three shades worked best in a look. If I attempted to use more the blending did go a little awry.
I liked the formula a lot. The shadows are nice and buttery with a very, very soft texture! But I still have conflicting feelings about paying $15 for this eyeshadow palette as I feel like I can use that money towards something mid-range. Drugstore makeup prices continue to rise higher and higher unfortunately.
If you can get it on sale the MUA Makeup Academy Nude Eyeshadow Palette would be a nice addition to your eyeshadow wardrobe if you like softer, sheerer eyeshadows that are easy to blend but not necessarily great for creating intricate look!
The MUA Makeup Academy Nude Eyeshadow Palette is available at CVS and CVS.com.
