Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains Review

I was just mentioning in my prior review how over exfoliating can do more harm than good but with Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains ($30) it’s easy enough to get in daily exfoliation without stripping or drying your skin out.

I became a fan of Farmacy when I tried out their Clear Bloom Makeup Glideaway Cleansing Oil in the Fall. It is and remains one of my favorite cleansing oils at the moment as it leaves my dry skin very, very well hydrated after use!

Considering my success with it I made it my business to try more of Farmacy’s offerings and many have become great favs like their New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains!

Exfoliating grains are fairly common in the skincare world as I’m sure some of you have tried Bobbi Brown’s version as well as Josie Maran’s.

Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains actually kind of works as a exfoliating cleanser of sorts which makes it easy enough to use as a gentle, daily exfoliating treatment. This starts out life as a powder that’s formula with rice brand which contains natural cranberry seeds for exfoliating as well.

I double cleanse so I use this as a follow up to my normal cleansing routine. It replaces my foaming cleanser so I use an cleansing oil to remove my makeup and I follow up with this after. I shake a generous amount of the powder into my hand. It’s a very silky, finely milled consistency aside from the smaller grains of cranberry seeds that is. I add a small amount of water to the powder to form a paste and I gently rub it around my face. I add a little water and the paste foams up. It rinses away without leaving a film on my face but the little bits of cranberry do remain. They don’t break down so you do need to rinse them away with water. I didn’t find them an issue though as they pretty much right off with the foam.

This isn’t a harsher scrub but you’re able to use it easily enough daily as it doesn’t dry or strip skin thus you’ll experience smoother, softer skin with daily use. I use it about three times a week and it does a beautiful job whisking away dryness. Plus the lathering foam acts to cleanse away any left over makeup that my cleansing oil leaves behind.

If you’re looking for a gentle scrub that exfoliates drier skin but doesn’t dry it out Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains is rather effective when used daily to do this!
