Kiko In the Shade Eyeshadow and Kajal Review & Swatches
I picked up one of the six shades of limited edition Kiko In the Shade Eyeshadow and Kajal ($11) that launched with the Kiko Lovegrove Summer 2016 Collection. I notice Kiko released this eyeshadow duo pencils with a variety of their limited edition collection but up until now I haven’t indulged in one!
Glad I redeemed that because I really like them!
I’m normally up and at ’em early in the AM (think bleary eyed 4:30 wake up call as having a blog and a normal 9 to 5 job isn’t easy!) but I’m NOT a morning person. I hate getting up with a passion but also hate sleeping late because it gives me a headache. But that’s neither here nor there. The real issue is the fact that sometimes in the morning I’m a zombie and I don’t want to head out of the house without makeup because I feel most comfortable when I have it on. That’s when creamy eyeshadow sticks come in might handy! It’s so easy to swipe them on and create a minimal effort look in a few seconds.
Kiko In the Shade Eyeshadow and Kajal is a double-ended pencil that features two shades one of which can be used as a highlighter or even an eyeshadow shade since it is light enough to work as such. And the other is a deeper, richer color that can be used for shading. These come in special edition rose gold packaging that was designed by Ross Lovegrove. Aren’t you loving the no end in site rose gold trend?! I need everything rose gold!
I picked up the Butter and Taupe shade (01) which has a light brownish taupe on one end and a buttery, creamy beige on the other. The formula is dense yet creamy, and easy to apply and blend out. It’s a little thicker in consistency but it hugs lids in smooth color and wears like a champ without primer. On my drier lids I experienced absolutely no issues with creasing or caking and the color remained true and intense through an eight hour period. I really liked the creamy beige shade as it worked great to perk up and left my eyes when I used it on my highbrow but it also worked great under powder eyeshadow to intensify the shades.
If you’re a lazy girl or guy and want a quickie look in the AM these double-ended pencils are a great way to get it!
