An Easy Way To Strobe with Pixi Glowtion Day Dew
Pixi Glowtion Day Dew is for those of that want an easier, sheerer strobing effect. I just can’t get on board with all the matte lipstick and overly highlighted looks everyone is raving about. Probably because I suck at highlighting! I tend to have a heavier hand during makeup application so placing a highlighter and a brush in my hand is suicide as I’ll over do it no matter how lightly I apply.
I also have a rounder face so I hate glow-y anything on my face! Thanks but no thanks! But sometimes a product comes along that makes getting a luminous glow easy and even looks flattering!
Pixi Glowtion Day Dew is the key to that flattering and easy to apply luminous glow!
If you can apply moisturizer you can easily apply Pixi Glowtion Day Dew ($22). Glowtion is a lightweight, moisturizing highlighting that gives skin a subtle luminosity.
Glowtion comes in a squeeze tube with attached tube that holds 1.18 of lotion. The formula is lightly hydrating and absorbs easily into skin. I tend to avoid using moisturizer when I wear this as it acts as a lighter moisturizer and highlighter all in one. But if you have drier skin, like me, that isn’t always a great option. To keep this light and simple I tend to rely on a hydrating essence versus a moisturizer. So I apply an essence first and apply Glowtion on top of it! This way I get plenty of hydration from both products as on its own Glowtion doesn’t quite have enough moisture for me particularly in the Winter when my skin is at its driest. The thinner consistency absorbs very easily into my skin and it’s quite moist but not tacky or sticky nor shiny or dewy in finish. The color is a soft, iridescent pearl white that has a pinkish color shift. It does have a very, very strong lavender scent as it contains lavender oil so this could be potentially an issue for sensitive users. Personally, the lavender doesn’t bother me at all.
I find that the pearlish white casts a pretty ethereal glow on my skin with little application no how. It’s just a matter of smoothing it on and BAM you have an instant, wearable glow on your skin that’s not harsh, overly made up, or unnatural. It’s a pretty, subtle glow. I keep my look simple when using this so typically that consists of a fairly nude eye with lots of mascara to accent my already larger eyes, a little cheek stain, and some clear gloss. The look is fresh, natural, and perfect for Spring.
If you’re not terribly great with powder highlighter application, I’d recommend Pixi Glowtion Day Dew for an easier way to get that strobe look everyone is trying to sell you at the moment!
