I’m not much of a setting mist kind of girl but count me curious about one that contains SPF 50.

oh Muse, please review this! I’m dying to know what its like & if it works! I’m imagining trying to use one of those continuous spray sunblocks as a setting spray & that sounds like a terrible idea lol. fingers crossed this actually prolongs the wear of makeup on a hot day in the sun as well as protects!

Jessie read above sounds like a lemon sadly 🙁 haha ya, def not a good idea ;-D

I have a small bottle of this and I hate it. The sprayer is weird and spits out too much product, and it ends up getting all over my hair and my clothes. It also smells weird, AND I’m dubious of how much SPF I can really be getting from a few spritzes (most of which don’t end up on my face). I also don’t feel like it sets my makeup very well, so I always end up following up with a second setting spray, which is ridiculous. I can’t say I’d recommend this to anyone! 🙁

Yes! Exactly. The sprayer was terrible. It’s not a clean , fine mist at all. Quite the opposite when I tried mine..I returned it the next day.

I got a bottle of this in a Popsugar box last summer and pretty much only use it for touch ups when I’m actually sitting on the beach, because it’s far too sticky for daily use. Smells nice and does have a brief cooling sensation, but I think if you used it on a normal makeup day you would end up feeling sticky and gunky.

It burns! Caroline is right, the sprayer is uneven and weird. Plus the smell burned my nose and eyes. Great in theory but still needs work.

I had a deluxe sample of this one. I used it when at an outdoor event with the sun blasting my pasty white skin all day. I used this periodically throughout the day as sunblock over my makeup. The sprayer is poor. However, it worked! It worked very well. I am not sure if I would purchase this one. I recall that it is expensive. But, it did keep the job extremely well for me.

    • Laura

Wait. I tried the other version of this, not the setting spray. Hmmm. I wonder how this will do.

I actually like this product. I don’t use it as my primary sunscreen, as I always apply face sunscreen of SPF 50 before applying make-up. I do use this for touch-ups during the day, and when I would go for a run after night shift, I’d spray it on my face to protect my skin as the sun rises. Honestly, my face and make-up still looked pretty matte and set after a seven mile run in the desert heat! I just got my second bottle in the mail.

I had it and it was my emergency touch-up SPF throughout the day during summer, it was pretty sticky, it got on my hair and made it oily and gross. I liked the scent and how portable it is. Overall I think it’s too expensive and I wouldn’t buy it again. 🙁

I got a small sample from Birchbox, and I don’t care for it. Maybe it’s just because it’s tiny, but the sprayer doesn’t exactly spray out a fine mist like you’d expect of a facial mist. Also, the formula is greasy, which makes my make up fade faster. I prefer the Coola setting spray with SPF 30.

I actually like this and was nearly determined not to. I agree it can make your hair a bit icky, though I try to just hold my hand over my hair line.
Shaking it is a huge must or you’ll get the uneven spray, and sometimes the burning. The owner of Supergoop actually left a Sephora review of her product explaining that.
I got caught out without sunscreen unexpectedly, was out for about 6 hours with just this and came home with no burn or color, so I was very happy.
I also have rosacea so I was surprised to find it didn’t hurt me. That was my only time really putting it to the test. Besides that I’ve just used it before leaving work to combat the exposure while commuting. 🙂

I bought this for my husband. Not to use over makeup just to be used as a regular SPF. He loves it. He hates the white sticky sunscreens. He has even tried color ones, but he felt like he was using makeup. This one he says its easy matte, spray and done. He reapplies every so often.
