new makeup fall 2016

There are so many new makeup, beauty, and skincare bits and bobs that I need in my life right now. Yes, need, not want! I had to throw that in there (if you read my Dior post you’re either totally laughing right now or mentally rolling your eyes).

I’m actually being very reserved about my makeup purchases at the moment since the Holiday Collections will be popping soon but I’ve seen some items that I likely won’t be able to resist very long.

Take a look!

utter London Glazen Eye Gloss $24 (Available at Nordstrom.com and Ulta.com)
Dude, dude, dude, don’t these new Glazen Eye Glosses remind you of Tom Ford Cream Color For Eyes? P.S. Did I ever tell you how wildly sexy I think Tom Ford is? That’s a story for another day though! But yeah, these new shadows give eyes a glossy wet finish (but don’t worry they aren’t wet to the touch). The pudding texture has a gel-like consistency that sets to a powder finish. Butter London released them in four shades and there’s even an interesting duochrome called Oil Slick that appears to have a green shift. I think my eyes need these for Fall looks! Yes?

Dior Diorblush Light & Contour Sculpting Stick Duo $44 (Available at Nordstrom.com)
Define, sculpt, contour, and highlight with Dior’s new dual-sided chubby contouring stick. I mean, Dior made a sculpting stick this must mean I have to start getting on board the contouring trend right!? There’s some twisted logic there!

Pop Permanent Pout $14 (Available at www.popbeauty.com)
I’ve been testing out Pop Beauty’s new full-coverage liquid lipstick and it’s pretty darn lovely! Long-wearing but not drying and a super matte finish for all day wear. Did I mention the budget price? $14 bucks!

Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough Gel-Oil Mask $35 (Available at Ulta.com)
Dry skin? Nourish it with lasting moisture courtesy Philosophy’s new gel-oil formula that supplies skin with a boost of hydration to leave skin soft and supple.

Kardashian Beauty No Apologies Face Kit $16.99 (Available at Ulta.com)
Don’t shoot me but I want the new Kardashian Beauty Palette! What madness is this!?? As you know I’m a huge Japanese makeup fan and this palette soooooooooo reminds me of KATE which is a popular Japanese brand. Blame the sparkle or maybe I’ve been out in the heat too long but I think I need this in my life.

Simple Dual Effect Eye Make-up Remover $6.79 (Available at Ulta.com)
Call be a glutton for punishment but I want to try this new eye makeup remover because I’m really hoping it turns out better than the original Simple Eye Makeup Remover I recently reviewed and hated all over. Hopefully this new bi-phase formula treats me better!

Pop Beauty Pow Wow Powder Palette $24 (Available now at www.popbeauty.com)
I remember Pop Rose Belle Blush Palette like it was yesterday, when it fact it was 2008! I absolutely adored Pop Beauty’s palettes when they launched over 8 years ago and I’m happy to report they have a brand new round of these quads available! Each palette contains four shades that can be mixed, matched, or worn individually for a pop of gorgeous color.

What new makeup or beauty that has caught your eye recently?

Do share!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. So Muse, tell us the truth now. How much longer before you have to move to a 500 acre plot of land of which 499.5 acres will be for beauty storage?

    • Isabella Muse

LOL! seriously though! My new summer home is complete so I thought I’d use all that for extra storage LOL!

      • Deb

You should! I have a mental image of a house with one small bed and nothing else but makeup and beauty supply stashes taking up every available room!!

        • Isabella Muse

haha I live in an old Victorian, 20+ rooms, Only one of which is dedicated to makeup 🙂

I was eyeing those new Kardashian beauty items on ulta.com too. Someone talk me out of it (even though I don’t really hate on them as much as most).

  • Dena Mcclure

I can not bring myself to buy anything Kardashian just on prinicipal no matter how pretty. That Moondust palette is calling to me, but I have resisted so far…… Have a great weekend. Hub and I are going for a romantic weekend sans teenagers!! Whoohoo!

    • Isabella Muse

Awww romantic weekend! Cute! 🙂 Have a good weekend my dear enjoy! 😀

    • Agona

I agree. I just can’t support the Kardashians and pretend like they actually contribute to society.

While these look tempting I am going on a no buy on makeup and try to focus on skincare until November. My goal is to buy one eye palette from each brand and I generally base this on your swatches and reviews. I have my eyes on the MUF Artist Vol 4 and Smashbox Matte Exposure and I will be done until November. I am anxiously awaiting your Nordstrom Anniversary purchases/reviews. I got the MAC Look In A Box (purple) still waiting for my delivery. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the Kardashian picture I had to double check I was on the right site! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

Haha! I couldn’t resist it looked SO much like something from KATE! I kind of want it! P.S. Very flattered you base your purchases on my review <3!!!!!

My new makeup obsession right now is looking for cheap eyeshadow thrills. I normally stick to mid-range or high-end brands because the quality is usually better and more consistent–and they’re reviewed more often so it’s easy to weed out the duds. But I picked up the Wet n Wild 8 pans and trios from their permanent line out of nostalgia (and rave reviews) and was surprised by how fun it was to find a cheap thrill. So now I’m curious if there are others out there. I’ve discovered that Essence’s eyeshadows are pretty good too.

OMG those Butter London eye things — I.MUST.HAVE.!!!! Particularly the one that looks like an oil slick! I already know it will be a month (at least) before the Ultas in my area have them, but now I have a good reason for stalking!!!!

  • Deena

Oh my gosh, there are sooooo many things I want also but I am waiting for the holiday collections. I can’t wait!!!

  • kellly

Ok, I went to Ulta but they didn’t even know what I was talking about on those Butter London shadows, so I went on their website and ordered one sight unseen (except for the pictures). That oil slick color looks so awesome, I neeeeeded to have one. Now I have to stalk my mail box/ wait patiently until it arrives. Bonus, free shipping on any purchase, so considering I’d have to pay sales tax if they had one at Ulta, I really feel like I pulled something off! Now waiting to see my amazing gorgeous new shadow. Thanks for the heads up on this!!

    • Isabella Muse

sorry 🙁 that stinks! Let me know how it turns out? I want to order the brown one but haven’t yet 😀 My pleasure xoxo!

      • kellly

Ta-daaaaaa!! I’m wearing it today. It’s a reddish brown color with a greenish sheen. It’s afternoon already and so far it hasn’t budged. The color is so cool and it hasn’t creased, smudged, or disappeared. It’s sort of like a mousse texture in the jar. I used my fingertip to apply it and could build the color when applying it and it didn’t smudge what was already there.
Summary: I love it! – Now I may need to get other colors, too!! (*cheesy grin*)
