The new Urban Decay Razor Sharp Water-Resistant Longwear Liquid Eyeliner ($22) launched today with the rest of the Urban Decay Fall 2016 Collection! Razor Sharp Water-Resistant Longwear Liquid Eyeliner is a new, upgrade liquid eyeliner formula from Urban Decay that launched in 20 shades with the promise of an intensely pigmented, waterpoof wear that’s available in creams and metallic shimmer finishes.

Razor Sharp actually replaces the old 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner formula. I haven’t yet tried this out but I’ll compare the two formulas when I review them later next week. Razor Sharp’s main claim to fame is the fact it wears long and strong but easily removes at the end of the day. These come in a gunmetal barrel with a metallic cap that matches the shade inside.

I’ve always told you I suck at liquid eyeliner application but fun fact of the day, I actually excel at applying color liquid liner. Wait, I think I exaggerated, excelled might be too kind a word. Let’s just say I can get a straighter line when using colored liquid liner compared to black for some odd reason or another. Just one of the universe’s mysteries I suppose.

So far, I’ve been struggling with the packaging on these. Word to the wise, they make a small pop and splatter a little when opening some shades! Be careful if you’re wearing a good shirt because I already got two or three shades on a top I was wearing yesterday and walked around ever after looking like a Pollock painting. Second, and most important (it’s like the Gremlin rules around here right?), shake them up! Some of the shades were as bad as Maybelline Eye Studio Master Duo 2-in-1 Glossy Liquid Liner (Which happened to make my Best Drugstore Eyeliner and Worst post! Can you guess which was worst?). They really need a good shake up before application! You’ve been warned.

Oh by the way, did I mention the shade Fireball from the Moondust Eyeshadow Palette is available in this new liquid eyeliner formula? Oh and Perversion too! Yasss!

I find colored liquid eyeliner easier to use than black too!

I may try these but I’m a little afraid they may ruin my clothes.

    • Isabella Muse

Ha! I’m not alone!!!!!!!!! I think I just got some flukes but to avoid this, just shake them up, and open them over your sink just in case!

  • Kay

Yes, yes, all of the yes! I’ll be hauling Space Cowboy, Fireball and Cuff for sure. Probably Junkshow too if it comes to the UK 😀 Likewise Ecstacy and Intergalactic…shall I maybe just list the shades I don’t want?

Seriously though, I can’t wait for these!

  • Jules

Hmm. I was seriously considering these, but now it sounds like they might be a big ole nope. I like to put my makeup on sitting on my bed…so I would have ruined clothes AND sheets. Plus, it looks like the end is too far from the cap for me–I am not coordinated enough for that!! Looking forward to see what looks you come up with, tho!

I love liquid eyeliner soooo much, I’ve been wearing a cat eye for the last 25 years, it’s my jam and i feel naked without it! That being said, of course i will get Perversion and Fireball looks so sweet! I just picked up a Wet and Wild liquid liner that is a total dupe for Chaos and it applies and wears like a champ! I seriously got stopped in the streets by people who wanted to know what brand it was!

  • Claire L

Yes, I love the look of those! Maybe they’re easier to use because black is such a strong pigment/colour, it sticks around! And every little mistake is magnified! But there’s more leeway for error with coloured ones, a bit like when you’re painting your nails, light colours are more forgiving than dark ones.

    • Isabella Muse

Totally true! I always feel like my less than perfect line isn’t as noticeable with a color liner!

  • Linda

No purple? Dammit! Why do so few brands release purple shades???

    • Isabella Muse

It’s ok! Too Faced has your back! There’s a pretty lilac in the Sketch Marker Collection 😀

    • sleepybird

They are actually releasing around 20 or so shades. Muse didn’t have all available to swatch probably. I know Retrograde, a shimmery royal purple, is coming back and they alado have a lilac cream color. Its not UD without crazy great purples!

      • Isabella Muse

oops sorry! I knew it was 20, mentioned it in my post, but didn’t realize there was a purple in the batch! I was sorting through the website yesterday and didn’t even notice the purple!

  • Jp

These look so pretty! I am soooooooo glad their tips care not felt tip but a brush tip. 😀

  • Chris

I’ve purchased Retrograde, one of the purple shades with purple sparkle; Snakebite and Dark Force, a very dark brown. I do agree that shaking the tube is important before applying. It says so on the directions. The liners go on well and I love the skinny brush! The colors dry true to color and when you go to take them off with liquid makeup remover, they flake off so be careful not to get it in your eye. Also when applying, if you get any solution in your eye, for me, the solution may burn slightly.

I really love Retrograde as it’s such a vibrant purple.
