Kat Von D Lock-It Edge Concealer Brush1

I picked up the Kat Von D Lock-It Edge Concealer Brush this weekend and I have to say it’s pretty much changes everything during application of Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Creme. Now, I personally liked Lock-It Concealer Creme but I know a lot of you did not. If that’s the case, I’d highly recommend indulging in the Kat Von Do Lock-It Edge Concealer as it is bound to change your mind about the concealer formula.

Here’s my thoughts and review!

Kat Von D Lock-It Edge Concealer Brush2

It’s no great secret that the new Lock-It Concealer Creme it’s thick, creamy, pigmented, and a bit harder to blend out. This is a formula that needs some coaxing and TLC to get on just right. I actually love it. It conceals well, brightens as promised, and makes my eyes look wide awake and happy. But I won’t lie, the application can be tricky and on the dry side.

Not the case if you’re using the Lock-It Edge Concealer Brush.

This brush was created for use with the concealer and has a sculpted shape design to fit the contour of your eyes. The tapered bristles are firm and dense yet soft enough to blend concealer easily under eyes. The handle is a tapered design that’s skinny at the base and gets wider at the head. It fits comfortably in my hand and allows for precise control of the brush. It’s a black lacquer color with Kat’s initial emblem on the upper part of the handle.

If you look closely the brush head is a triangular shape with tapered bristles that are have both longer and shorter bristles. The tapered head fits the contour under your eye perfectly due to this shape and also fits the area down the sides of your nose. I find the blending technique with this brush absolutely flawlessly. It breaks down the heavier, creamier texture of Lock-It Concealer Cream and breaks it down while blending it perfectly under eyes with very minimal effort. Fingers work, sure, but this actually helps sheer and thin out the heavier consistency of the concealer and gives it a picture perfect finish that isn’t dry or caking into finer lines. If you had issues blending the concealer, this is definitely going to be a game changer during application. It diffuses the formula, softens it, and creates a smooth, flawless finish.

It’s excellent for contour work as well. I tend to apply concealer at the top of my cheek bones just at the well of my eye area and down the sides of my nose and blend it out using this brush. This acts to brighten up my entire complexion and the brush itself diffuses the formula and creates a soft, even finish.

It washed well and the bristles retained their shape after drying. It also didn’t have a weird, funky smell that synthetic bristled brushes sometimes do.

All in all, this was an excellent concealer brush that really aided Lock-It Concealer Creme to perform its very best! If you struggled with the concealer formula for some reason you might want to check this brush out as it really does create a flawless finish under eyes and pairs up well with the concealer!

Awesome!! I’ll keep that in mind for when I finally get to buy it. LOL

Great review! You think this would work good with the tarte shape tape concealer since it’s a creamy pigmented formula too?

    • Isabella Muse

Absolutely but I do recommend it for thicker, creamier consistency concealers like say It Cosmetics Bye Bye! Shape Tape is a little thinner so, you can sheer it out a good deal with a brush like this. Just use it gently and you should be a ok!
