Tarte Scrublet

The new, limited edition Tarte Scrublet is making the rounds on the Internetz at the moment. This little scrublet is so limited edition you can only one of ’em on Tarte’s website. I do wonder if this will cause a mad frenzy to own and possess that little plastic scrublet!

Remember when L’Oreal Go 360 Cleansers came with a little scrubber like this one? They also happen to be fairly popular in Japan and cheap too! I dub them the poor girl’s (or guy’s) Clarisonic. Believe or not they are pretty effective at giving your face a nice, deep clean with a little gentle exfoliation action thrown in for good measure.

Tarte’s version is available now for a limited time exclusively at tartecosmetics.com. I personally have millions of these hanging around so, I don’t need one but if you’ve never tried one it might be worth a pick up if you’re doing a Tarte order.

P.S. I would also like to randomly say I smell delicious right now. I’m wearing Dsh’s Cordial and I feel like I’m in some fancy Parisian bakery. It’s a powdery caramel blend that’s sweet yet woodsy. Truly a delicious gourmand. I’ll do a little introduction to Dsh soon for the fragrance lovers! For some reason it reminds me of beignets! Which by the way also reminds me of the first time I was in New Orleans many years ago and I asked a guy, who appeared to be a local headed to work, where Cafe Beignets was because I had heard it was far better than Cafe du Monde. He looked at me puzzled for a minute but quickly a light bulb appeared above his head and he said to me and I quote, “Oh you mean Cafe Bag-Nuts!”

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

    hi from nola 🙂
I’ve never been into beignets, except when I just moved to nola about 10 years ago. I have discovered some mini beignets I like at the broken egg cafe on magazine street tho. check it out next time you’re in town. 🙂
and hey while you’re at it, we can talk about makeup while you’re here too lol

    • Isabella Muse

You’re in NOLA, Yelena? OMG awesome! I never had beignets at broken egg but I did have their monster cinnamon roll which should be illegal! 😀 I’d love to meet up! 😀

  • Dena Mcclure

Muse do you really think it is fair to display yummy food when I have not had breakfast? LOL

    • Isabella Muse

haha sorry! I totally ate chocolate for breakfast today! I’m guilty of all sorts of wrongs this Thursday 😀

  • Jay

I bought the exact.same.product in a 2 pack from Walmart…just used it this weekend to deep clean my foundation brushes lol. Great pictures!! I’ve never been to New Orleans, but it seems like a really fun city! Do you recommend any specific activities?

    • Isabella Muse

omg! good idea! I never thought to use them on my brushes! Thanks! Gosh, there is so much to do and see in NOLA. I totally recommend to the Garden District (maybe because I’m a Rice fan) and the cemeteries and of course, a stroll down Bourbon Street after dark is always recommended! The street performers, the unusual people you’ll see/meet, it’s truly a great experience 😀 And if you’re a foodie you’ll be in heaven, there are so many wonderful restaurants, The Court of Two Sisters is a fav of mine! They do a jazz bruncht that’s delicious!

      • ruth

you love anne rice too?? why do we not live closer? the last time i was in NOLA was before the hurricane and i was so in love with the city, i was ready to move there! There’s so much to see & do, we didn’t have nearly enough time to do it all.

        • Isabella Muse

Adore! 🙂 BC (before Christ), of course haha! NOLA is steeped in so much history, it’s hard not to love it 🙂 It’s beautiful city and totally appeals to my inner goth 😉 You’d need a month or more to see/do it all! GO BACK! 😀

          • ruth

I didn’t read the Christ & wolf books but she’s gone back to Lestat! I have the last one that came out maybe 2yrs ago from b&n, it’s a signed edition. It *had* to come home with me! but i still haven’t read it. NOLA totally appeals to my inner goth too! want to wear creepers, hang in the cemeteries, drink coffee in the middle night, and ghost hunt. My oldest cat is diabetic, super skittery and won’t eat when boarded. we boarded him once and it took over a month to get his diabetes under control again, so we haven’t been anywhere in years! one of us always has to be home to take care of the baby and make sure he eats and gets his insulin on time.

          • Isabella Muse

Ah Prince Lestat not as good as some of her earlier work but when you’re missing out on Lestat it fits the bill 😀 Have you ever been to Garden District Book Shop? She’s done tons of signings there and they have a photo album on a shelf next to her books which includes a ton of photos. Some of the photos from her Jazz funeral are just too cool! Seriously, I want to have one lol! Awwww! Do you have any relatives he likes and is comfortable with? Maybe he can stay alone but have someone check up on him and give him his insulin? How sad 🙁 My cat isn’t diabetic but she’s a nut case when boarded out. Seriously takes a long time to get her to trust me again after I leave on vacation. I’ve taken to not boarding her out anymore. I leave her home alone and have my dad stop by to check on her. She’s a sweet cat but going to the vet or boarding out and she goes nuts!

I have the scrubby from Sehora but also ordered the Tarte one to compare. I cannot help but wonder if they are the same. I am also a Clarasonic user L )))

      • Isabella Muse

I think a lot of them look the same! 😀 You can get them from a variety of Asian stores which have them in different sizes/shapes like these!

        • Maria A

Ok, so it arrived today and I tested it against the Sephora one. Tarte scrubbies are scrubbier. You actually feel the exfoliation which I like. Then again I don’t have sensitive skin. I actually prefer the tarte one over the sephora one

  • Amy

Same type of product also comes in a 2 pack at CVS , Beauty 360 Gentle Facial Scrubber, less that $4. Can’t compare because don’t have another brand, but these scrubbers are nice on skin.

  • ruth

My baby won’t come out for anyone but me & Matt. When my brother was still with us, he tried to give Lestat (yup, his name is Lestat and he’s a tuxedo kitty) his insulin and from what Glenn described, it was like Wile E. Coyote chasing the roadrunner and the roadrunner always got away each time! Glenn moved furniture trying to trap him apparently forgetting cats can climb. I laughed so hard I was crying, but my brother was so upset because he didn’t want the kitty to get sick. the rest of the babies are fine when mom comes to check on them and put fresh food down. but Lestat won’t eat or use the litter box when boarded and i can’t do that to him, he trusts me to take care of him.
we were broke af and on a time crunch when we went, so we took the trolley through the garden district all the way to the end and came back. we were able to see a quite a bit but didn’t walk around.

  • Dani

Went to the Tarte site prepared to see like $20 for that little piece of rubber, but only $7 isn’t so bad. It still seems excessive considering you can get the exact same thing in a 2-pack for like $3 at TJ Maxx & other stores, but to each his own! I generally use my Clarisonic dupe (the Ulta brand one) at home and then take the little scrubber when I travel. Pretty handy and way more travel friendly than electronic face brushes!

    • Dia

I agree. I use L’Oreal’s Go 360 cleanser which comes with a built-in scrubber for $4, so no need really to spend $7 on the scrubber alone. I also use a Clarisonic dupe, the Olay Pro-X. I get a kick out of how my entire brush costs less than the replacement brush head of a Clarisonic.

  • Vi

Thanks for a little taste of Nola! Used to live there and miss it terribly.

  • Lorraine E.R

Hey, if you ever want some info from a local when you come to New Orleans, hit me up! I’d be happy to help. I’ve been here 12 yrs.

    • Isabella Muse

Hey Lorraine! I didn’t know you were in NOLA! That’s awesome 🙂 Maybe next time I’m there we can meet up!

  • Carrie

I’ve seen those around and wanted to try them. My friend and I are shooting for New Or leans next year for a Supernatural con. It’s right around Halloween too which happens to be when we most want to visit. Those pics are beautiful btw.

    • Isabella Muse

I’m shooting for Fall, Star Trek Convention 🙂 Around Halloween too! And the same people that bring us the Supernatural Con haha! It’ll be fun doing Supernatural, Halloween and NOLA together! You’ll have a blat I’m sure!

  • Abbi

I thought it was a brush cleaner! After reading some comments apparently I’m not the only one, maybe it’s a good idea after all?

  • cajuncocoa

NOLA girl, born and raised….beignets are awesome. I think I might have to make a trip to the French Quarter tonight now LOL!!
