Bare Minerals Naughty Matte Liquid Lipcolor Review & Swatches
Bare Minerals Naughty Matte Liquid Lipcolor ($18) is a new, limited edition liquid lipstick in a festive red that launched with the Bare Minerals Holiday 2016 Collection. I wonder if they’ll be a nice shade too? I hope so because I’m really enjoying Naughty!
This comes packaged in a cardboard ornament with a ribbon for either attaching to a gift box or hanging on a tree as an ornament. It’s a full size 0.13 oz size and $18 in price so, there isn’t any deal to be had here as typically Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor is priced at $18 for 0.13 oz. It does deserve to be mention that the Buxom version holds 0.16 oz but is a bit more expensive at $21.
Bare Minerals recently revamped their entire lip collection and introduced the Gen Nude Collection to their permanent collection. Within that collection is a new Matte Liquid Lipcolor but I haven’t tried it but I have tried the Buxom Wildly Whipped Soft Matte Lip Color which is a lot like this formula.
This shade isn’t available in the permanent collection but I think it might be a prelude to Spring 2017 shades upcoming as right now Bare Minerals Matte Liquid Lipcolor is only available in a selection of nudes. Perhaps Bare Minerals Spring 2017 will include more colorful shades! The shade is a warm burgundy red which is exactly the kind of red I like wearing without feeling or looking like a clown.
This is a soft whipped texture with a lightweight matte finish that applies evenly on my drier lips. It isn’t a formula that feels like it is sucking moisture from my lips, it feels very lightweight and comfortable. This isn’t a bulletproof formula and it wipes away easily but doesn’t migrate, fade, or feather and wears for a good solid five hour period. I’m fine with that as most long wearing liquid lipstick can feel rather dry as the day progresses and this does not and is easy enough to wipe away and reapply as needed. I didn’t experience the separation issue I had with the Buxom fromula as that formula tended to migrate towards the center of my lips and this did not. It has a faint vanilla flavor and fragrance.
All in all, this was a great purchase for me! I liked the shade and I liked the formula as well. It’s a comfortable to wear lightweight liquid lipstick that’s matte but not dry. The color had excellent pigmentation and will look lovely with Holiday looks!
