Luxe By Mr Bubble

So, I had a case of nostalgia recently and I walked into my local Ulta and asked, “Do you have the Luxe by Mr Bubble Collection?” Immediately, I got a raised brow and a “Oh honey no!” You see, this new Luxe by Mr Bubble Collection recently launched at Ulta.com and had me intrigued but rather than blind buy anything from the collection I thought I’d sniffle it in store to see if I needed it.

Of course, my Ulta experiences are always less than stellar so, I should have known asking for Mr Bubble anything would raise a few eyebrows.

Mr. Bubble is over 50 years old so at some point in your life I’m sure he’s hung out in your bathroom with you! Be it because you used him as a child like I did or perhaps you’ve used him more recently for children of your own. For me, he’s somewhat of an American Icon. I couldn’t even begin to tell you what he smells like! He’s sort of fresh and clean with a little POP of something in the background. It’s a rather addicting scent or at least to my nose it is! Demeter did a Mr Bubble perfume a few years ago, I’m not sure if it still available but they captured the scent perfectly.

So, sadly, the Luxe by Mr Bubble Collection was not available at my local Ulta but it did go on sale recently on the website! Everything right now is Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off! I’ll review each of the fragrances for you and share my thoughts soon! But I did want to share some initial thoughts! First off, the packaging is such cute and vintage-like! It quite reminds me of Soap & Glory and Benefit for some reason. And secondly, the collection is available in three scents one of which is the original Mr Bubble scent! They offer the products in a variety of options such as shower cream, bath bombs, etc…but likely the most fun is the fact they offer it in a body butter as well as in a fragrance mist. Wearing this scent totally brings back major childhood memories!

So, if you’re waffling on a purchase yourself at the moment, just know that Mr Bubble’s new Luxury line does in fact smell like the original Mr Bubble fragrance and will totally bring back your childhood in one sniff.

Loves this!

Available now at Ulta.com.

P.S. Don’t forget that the Tarte Double Duty Beauty The Lip Sculptor Double Ended Lipstick & Gloss are $12 bucks today at Ulta.com for one day only! That’s a super deal! See my review of them by clicking here.

OMG – MR. BUBBLE?! he’s back!? I loved that stuff as a kid!! And even now, DH and I answer the phone (if he’s calling me or vice versa) “Madame, how do you do?” which is from this Mr. Bubble commercial from a few thousand years ago:

I gotta check out the fancy schmancy Mr. Bubble!! I don’t know why I’m so psyched that it’s back, but I am! 😀

Lol – we both remembered it from when we were kids – I always loved that part of the commercial…. 😀

I really want these not only because I do love Mr. Bubble himself (itself?), but because growing up I had such sensitive skin I could only use Ivory soap. I always cried when I wasn’t allowed to use the fun soaps, and Mr. Bubble is one that I remember always wanting to use. I got really excited when I saw these on Ulta’s website a little bit ago. I’m a big girl now so I can finally use the kids’ soap.

awww! Love that story 🙂 It smells like the original (there are also two other scents but the original smells just like Mr Bubble) 🙂

I will be on the hunt for these at Ulta. I am old enough to remember when Mr. Bubble came in the cardboard box. That is what I had as a 1980’s kid. Probably had the liquid too, just don’t remember it. Funny enough, about 2 weeks ago I bought a bottle of mr. Bubble at the grocery store of all places. My husband was like, really? There went my sex appeal. ;-D

I’m glad you posted this because I was tempted to buy this because of the vintage packaging so now that i know it smells like the bubble bath I loved as a child I am definately going to get some.
BTW: A couple of years ago i purchased a box of Mr. Bubble at Walgreens because looking at the box (i think it is the same look as decades ago) made me nostslgic.

One of the scents smells exactly like the original mr Bubble 😀 HAHA I’m glad I’m not alone!

Seriously, what is up with Ulta? Does anyone ever have good experiences there? LOL. I do love the mix of mid-range, drugstore, and hair products, but the experience is always no bueno.

Love retro cosmetics! In the UK we had Mr Matey (blue) then Miss Matey (pink) bubble bath, it’s still going strong more than 30 years later!

Thank you for the info Muse~~ My former BF would secretly take baths with Mr.Bubble, I found the original box version in his overnight bag and he confessed that he was a Mr Bubble user. I miss Mr Bubble, cannot wait to purchase.

I used to LOVE mr. bubble as a kid and have some vague memory of maybe dumping way too much in my tub LOL. Even though I make my own bath and body line, I’m going to check out one of the 90 ulta’s in las vegas and see if they have it. I love the packaging and I agree very soap and glory-esque.

ha me too! 😀 I used to totally love bath time because of Mr Bubble 😀 Lmk if they have it! My store sadly didn’t have it but at least I was able to score online!

The ORIGINAL Mr. Bubble powder had no scent at all, just possibly some masking fragrance. This was the practice of the “all-family” bubble baths that’d preceded it into the market: Eaton’s Bub and Prewitt’s Matey, and their imitatorsRobert. Mr. Bubble added a scent to its powder only after reformulation into a “milder” (weaker) version a decade later after complaints of urogenital irritation. The liquid version they came out with about the same time always had a fragrance, as had Colgate’s Soaky. However, Mr. Bubble did succeed in beating Bub off the market and exiling Matey to the UK.
