Almay the Complete Look Coordinated Makeup Palettes Launch

almay-the-complete-look-palette

The Almay The Complete Look Makeup Palettes are arriving at drugstores and includes options for cheeks, lips, and eyes! Hmmmm they look identical to the Revlon Eyes, Cheeks + Lips Palette that launched for Summer 2016 don’t they!?

I stupidly didn’t notice the price! I know Revlon’s are near $18 bucks which I thought was absurd. Sorry, I’ll pass by the drugstore again shortly and update this post with the price.

Almay launched these in three shade selections that act to work with Light/Medium, Medium, and Medium/Deep skin tones. Each palette includes eight eyeshadows, lipstick, blush, and highlighter/bronzer. The layout is identical to Revlon’s version!

Hate to say it but these aren’t remotely exciting to me but someone feel free to prove my lack of excitement wrong.

What do you think?

Are these worth a look or perhaps just as bad as Revlon’s version?

Almay sucks. They just need to throw in the towel. I can’t imagine they even make a profit. And yeah, these are just rehashes of the Revlon ones. What gives lately? Drugstore makeup/launches are horrible!

I don’t get it! Drugstore stuff is slowwwwwwwwwww lately! I remember where there were new products practically everyday two years ago now it is slow trickling in!

  • Lori

They look *exactly* like Revlon’s!! Umm…are we not supposed to notice, what are we supposed to be feeling here? I’m stuck between WTF and LOL haha 😉

  • Dani

It’s not just you – I’m not excited about them either! I saw these palettes & was like “what the hell?!” before I realized that Almay is owned by Revlon. Then I was just annoyed. Like they didn’t even make an EFFORT to switch these up from the Revlon ones. They could have tried a little harder.

I knew Almay was owned by Revlon but I couldn’t help but mentally roll my eyes how similar these were!

they’re $14.99 at rite aid. i got it last week for 40% off which ended up being around $9.
bought the light palette. it was okay. one eyeshadow and the blush was a miss for me but everything else is nice. same packaging as revlon. the lip colors are more on the sheer side. one was basically clear. The blush is better for someone with SUPER pale skin.

    meh

don’t care for palettes where the
lipstick and e/s are so close together
and yes they are the same as the Revlon

In a fit of pique I went to google Almay’s vintage products. Even the whackadoo pastel eye shadows of the 60s look better than what they’re trying to sell now. Good lord, Almay. Back to your roots (updated to reflect currents trends, cosmetics technology and a broader range of skin colors).

Almay is terrible. I agree with the poster who says they should just throw in the towel. They should merge all the products with the Revlon ones since they’re the same anyway.

I didn’t know about Almay being bought by Revlon, but I haven’t bought anything from them in quite a while. When did this happen? Seems like pretty soon we’ll be down to 2 or 3 big corporations owning everybody!! I still have a few of the eyeshadow compacts with the 3 wells that mad an eye shape that were combined for different color eyes, not sure what year that was.

  • Kristin

So Almay is just becoming recycled Revlon? Agree that it’s time to throw in the towel- how many times have they tried to rebrand themselves in the past few years? Remember when Elaine Irwin was spokesmodel? Then it was Kate Hudson, then Carrie Underwood; now I think Elaine is back? Who is their target audience supposed to be??

All those DS eye shadow and cheek palettes are rubbish – especially Revlon/Almay. You are quite right Isabella – these will be terrible too.

I bought the medium-deep one as the colors are much prettier. At least mine came with an eyemakeup remover, mascara and the palette. I do like their mascaras; very black instead of a gray tone.

I like Almay a lot and have many of their palettes because they don’t irritate my eyes. I’m not a fan of the new packaging on their eyeshadow trios because they have a weird curved applicator that’s hard to use. I normally use brushes but occasionally use the sponge-tipped applicator if I’m travelling or need to blend something quickly. I was excited when I saw these big palettes but the colors are kind of meh and I don’t like cream and powder products together because the powder gets in the lipstick and it’s inconvenient to carry a big palette in your purse rather than a little tube of lipstick for touch ups.

I hope Almay doesn’t stop making cosmetics. I have allergies. I agree with Cassandra. I like their mascara.
