About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I love mini items. I wish more brands did mini-versions of their full-size products, especially in cream color products (cream blush, lipsticks, glosses, etc).

    • Isabella Muse

I never liked minis before but lately I like mini skincare kits because I can try a lot of stuff before committing to a full size 😀

    • Heidi

I also wish for more minis. It takes me forever to use things up, and it would let me try more things without fear of them going to waste.

I love minis too. There are very few items in my stash that I wear often enough to be buying and repurchasing full sizes of. Minis are a great way to expand the stash and have more choices without as much waste. I’d choose a set of 5 mini lipcolors over 2 full size lip colors any day and the same with things like eyeliners or skincare or just about anything!
Plus when it’s a mix of colors or finishes in a set you get to try new things and possibly find new favorites.

I read review on the Sephora site that these are really really tiny . So rethinking about getting them although they look so cute

I was wondering about the size too, these little ones are .03 oz while the full size is .1 oz. So these minis are a little less than 1/3 the size of the normal ones. Not a terrible size, and with the set you’re getting over $100 worth of product.

My personal preference is tinier the better. I did the math once and figured out that if I use one shade of lipstick, full-sized, every day–it would last me a year. So a mini that’s 1/3 the size would last me 4 months. Given that I wouldn’t use the exact same shade every day is why I prefer minis, as lipsticks are a cream product and I worry about expiration (versus powder products, which you can sanitize with alcohol or scraping off top layers).

So cute! Like a travelling bag of lip goodies! My nieces would love this set.

I saw your review of the set at sephora and almost ordered it to get my birthday set but then I saw this set and I don’t have any clinique lippies although I’ve wanted to try these so I got it at ultas with some of my reward discounts and saved a bunch plus got a lot more for my money and I checked to make sure these were the same size as the sephora set and they were! Super excited to get these to try!

  • Amber

I did think the sephora one was really cute but I had rewards points at ulta and with the size of this set and the points, it was kind of a no brainer! I can’t wait to get them to try! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

AGREED! The size, price, plus any reward points you have=instant score!

  • Maria

I agree! these tiny things allow you to try more , I don’t feel guilt by wasting product (sometimes throwing away or leaving in the back and not using). You can also carry around better (I am assuming they have plastic tops? f you don’t carry the whole box around)
They are cuties alright. Like the pencil box too

    • Isabella Muse

Agreed! I never finish a full size anything! These minis are ideal!

  • Amber

I agree about finishing them. I have issues with full size products all the time. My hubby just says quit getting them so I can use what I have but, although logical, the sets are always too cute at christmas lol

Just got this item today! The box is gorgeous and huge. Not as tiny as I thought they’d be. Love it. Can’t wait to swatch!
