Urban Decay Full Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette ($55) is a new, limited edition palette arriving from Urban Decay just in time for Holiday 2016 on October 26th. Actually, the Urban Decay Full Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette arrived on the Urban Decay website yesterday for a brief flash of a moment but don’t worry if you missed out, it’ll be back very soon!

This one features 21 vibrant, bold Urban Decay Eyeshadows 18 of which are brand new colors. The Full Spectrum Palette is actually a follow up to Urban Decay Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette that launched with the Urban Decay Holiday 2015 Collection. As you know the Urban Decay Ultimate Basics got an early Holiday 2016 launch in August and you either really, really loved it or maybe you were a little disappointed to get more naked, nude shades from UD. That’s where the Urban Decay Full Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette comes into play. This one takes us back to Urban Decay roots and brings together some popping shades for those that love color.

Check out my swatches below.

This ones arrives our way in a slick black lined palette which is offset by the rainbow hued jewel UD emblem on the lower right hand corner of the palette. This palette features a massive, generously sized mirror in side as well as a double-ended brush for application. Pop it open and it almost looks like an artist’s palette with an array of rainbow eyeshadow shades. A quick glance at it and I thought it looked a little like Urban Decay’s Urban Decay Electric Pressed Pigment Palette. There’s 21 colors to choose from here and without even reading the description it instantly becomes obviously that the colors are arranged in flattering trios that will work well together. I LOVE not having to think about which colors will look good together. This takes a lot of the guess work out of color pairings as just look at any three shades top to bottom and you’ll find all three will work well in a look together!

I’m headed to Zombie Sleepaway Camp this weekend and I’m packing this up with me. Hey, I figure I’ll glow in the dark when I’m running around trying to survive the living dead! I’ll review it shortly for you and let you know how it stood up against the hoard.

The Urban Decay Full Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette arrives at Sephora.com, Ulta.com, and UrbanDecay.com starting October 26th.

What method did you use to swatch them? The swatches at Temptalia do not look this good.

  • Christina D.

I ordered this as soon as I got the email from Urban Decay yesterday morning. As much as I am partial to muted, neutral colors, I love me some color. This looks like fun and I cannot wait to play with it!

    • Isabella Muse

Sis, I think you’re going to be disappointed! I’ve been playing with it today and so far it is bad!

    • Isabella Muse

too scary for me too, I’m a wuss! lol! Hopefully it isn’t as bad as I fear!

  • Christian

Thank you Muse! I have been waiting for a colorful palette this holiday season and I am impatiently waiting for this to get to Sephora! Looking at your swatches, there doesn’t seem to be a good range of finishes in this palette and the purples all look like the same color. Also I was really hoping for some duochromes. Also you said we might be disappointed?

    • Isabella Muse

My pleasure Christian! I haven’t completely tested it yet but so far I’m a bit disappointed, the formula seems dry and a bit stiff, patchiness too! I’m going to keeping testing though! Hopefully my mind changes 😀

  • Alys

Purples are a let down. All look the same! Some interesting shades but seems like I should save my money. And a white shade named “bump.” Kind of trashy. Haha

Urban decay has had drug related names for makeup shades for a long time, here & there.

  • Lesley A.

I wish they would break this up into mini trios, because I just need the 3 oranges.

It’s interesting that you find the performance of the shades disappointing Isabella, because looking at the swatches I am not really impressed either. The shades are not really for me, I would never use most of them, but for those who love these colours will be very sad.

  • Sadie

The swatches look so great here…..I am almost changing my mind to get them …what do u think about quality …?

    Hi!
I’m really torn between buying either this full spectrum palette or urban Decay’s older, electric palette. Electric is currently on discount at sephora but the range of shades and colors you get in full spectrum are making me think twice.

I see you’ve tested both, so maybe you can recommend a palette? I crave bright, intense colors that I can wear with liquid liner and are saturated enough to go with blue hair. For example, I’m worried that the bright pinks in the full spectrum palette pale in comparison next to the electric palette’s ‘savage’. And you also mentioned that quality of Urban Decay’s shadows seem to be degrading – have you noticed this when comparing electric and full spectrum?
    Thanks!
