Colourpop Coin Purse Super Shock Cheek Review & Swatches
Colourpop Coin Purse Super Shock Cheek ($8) is a limited edition blush shade that launched with the Colourpop x Hello Kitty Collection recently! This sweet pink shade is definitely something I can picture Hello Kitty wearing!
As you know already, Colourpop recently teamed up with Sanrio to create a limited edition Hello Kitty Makeup Collection in a variety of products for lips, eyes, and cheeks!
Colourpop Super Shock Cheek Blush ($8) comes in a metallic red and blue box that features a silhouette of Hello Kitty’s tiny head peeping up on both the box and the pot of the blush!
Colourpop’s blush formula reminds me of Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in texture as it has a creamy clay-like texture that feels squishy but does not retain its shape when pressed into. I find the formula is a hybrid as it has the feel of a creamy blush but sets to a satiny finish on cheeks. It’s pretty customizable as you can either wear it as a sheer wash for a natural look or built up for more of a pop! Coin Purse is a matte finish bright, cool watermelon pink that has excellent pigmentation so, a little goes a long way (I went sheerer for my look below).
I find the Colourpop Super Shock Cheek formula has a nice seamless finish but can be a pain to apply as with fingers it tends to be a bit patchy and with the wrong kind of brush I get similar results. I’ve discovered a fiber brush with shorter, softer bristles works best to buff color onto cheeks. There’s a little trial and error when finding the perfect brush to use but once you do you’ll find the blush applies flawlessly. I use the Ecotools Complexion Collection Skin Perfecting Brush myself and although a little scratchy it gets the job done well! The wear time is fantastic at around 10 hours with fading at that 10 hour mark. I always like how natural and smooth these look on my cheeks as they don’t cling to drier areas the way a powder would look and the finish appears much more natural versus a powder.
Colourpop Coin Purse Super Shock Cheek is a pretty, fun shade of pink that’s worth picking up!
It’s currently sold out! But hopefully colourpop.com will get it back in stock again soon.
