Sonia Kashuk Closes Twitter Account But Why?

I’m sad to say Sonia Kashuk is closing their Twitter account but the the question on everyone’s mind might be, “But why?” Today, the brand tweeted out that they are closing their Twitter account but their products are still available at Target. Hmmm…

That’s terribly odd wouldn’t you say? I hope I’m reading too much into this because as a fond fan of the brand I’d hate to see it disappear completely.

Why do you think they are closing their Twitter account?

I’m getting to Target to stock up my favs JUST in case!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Wow, I can’t imagine Target would stop carrying Sonia Kashuk. Her stuff sells like hot cakes there.

They apparently are going to stay in Target, I’m just confused why they are closing up their social media sites! Weird!

They’re also closing their Facebook account as well…weird. I can’t think of any other reason where that would make sense from an advertising perspective unless the company is shutting down/downsizing their lineup significantly.
(BTW did you get the email I sent with the Sephora Fall 2002 images? If it went through I have a few more to send.)

    • Isabella Muse

Agreed! Why would they do that? Seems so odd! I didn’t!? Can you resend????

Uh oh… Maybe it’s time I grab those Velvety Matte lip crayons I’ve been eyeing for months…

    • Isabella Muse

True! But not always PR some accounts are maintained my individuals for example Sunday Riley comes to mind and Charlotte Tilbury. It wouldn’t cost her anything at all if she maintained it herself.

I wonder if the company is being bought out by another but they can’t announce it yet. Makes no sense in this day and age to delete social media accounts.

    • Isabella Muse

Even if they were why not just change the name without losing the followers?

Nothing surprises me now, after Drugstore.com & Beauty.com got closed. Corporate makes some weird decisions. My opinion is that either Target now completely owns the SK business and want people to focus on that (Walgreen’s example), or less likely they are going out of business, but encouraging shopping to sell through existing inventory, as they may not be accepting an RTV /returnn to vendor. If you go to the SK website it instantly redirects to Target…just my uninformed 2 cents, but certainly strange.

Wow, that is crazy! Social media is too big right now to do this sort of thing lightly. As y’all have said, I can’t imagine why they would close ALL of their social media accounts (as per their Facebook post, so it’s not just their Twitter and Facebook) unless they’re closing shop or just becoming an exclusive Target brand. They can’t possibly be going out of business! Most of the SK things at my Targets are always looted, so I know they’re selling well! It looks like they are giving everyone a default response when they ask why: “While we’re closing our social accounts, it’s important to note that our products will still be available at Target stores and online. You’ll continue to find great new product from SK by following Target Style.”
    Disappointing.

It’s weird to me, something is brewing though because the last two seasons nothing major launched. Knockout launched for Summer or was it Spring? After that things have been pretty quiet aside from new brushes and makeup bags but nothing being added to the core collection or LE items!

So apparently according to her Instagram she will no longer be the creative director of the brand anymore , maybe this is why she “closed” everything down so target can begin to run everything.
