About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

If you have the one from 2013, the colors are about half duplicated….so I passed on this one. She also did one in the spring(ish) and those colors were about half dupes as well. These big sets are not all original colors.

    • Isabella Muse

I have two actually and was tempted by this but reminded myself how many of her baked shades I already own 😀

  • Carol G

Wow, I really want this but just looked at the price and can’t rationalize paying over $100 for eyeshadow. I know you get 50 shades which is basically $2 per shade but that’s a lot to shell out all at once. I’m hoping they’ll have some sort of sale as Christmas gets closer…I’ll have to keep my eye on it.

    • Susan

I keep coming back to look at this set. Sigh. But with other Christmas shopping I can’t justify $100 for myself right now. Does QVC ever put stuff like this on sale, like if by Christmas Eve they haven’t sold as many as they thought they would? Thanks to anyone who knows.

How do you like the baked shadows by Laura Geller? I’ve used her Balance & Brighten baked powder. Not sure,if I need the shadows.

    • Isabella Muse

I’m kind of obsessed with baked shadows. They are my favorite texture to work with! So, I love ’em! But if you aren’t a baked shadow fan, you might want to skip!

  • Tammy

It was love at first sight for me and I ordered it. I’ve never ordered anything from QVC before and now that I’ve discovered it I might be in trouble…I can’t stop shopping!!!

  • Emily

They look sooooooooo pretty but I just cannot justify buying 50 shadows. Can you please summarize what makes baked shadows your favorite texture? I don’t think I’ve ever used them before. I love how they look in the pan, but that’s not a good enough reason to purchase. Or is it?

    • Isabella Muse

I just generally love baked shadows since my Bourjois Paris days 🙂 That was my gateway drug into baked everything! I like how smooth the formula is, I love how it looks airbrushed on, I like the thin, silkiness of the texture. I also love how easily you can convert baked shadows into a smudged up liner by applying water 🙂 Baked shadows aren’t for everyone 🙂 but I LOVE ’em!

  • Sara

I have a couple of her blushes, but never tried a shadow. These rich shades are sucking me in…beautiful!

  • Melissa

What Laura Geller produces do you recommend? I find it hit or miss with her for some reason?

    • Isabella Muse

Blush n Brighten, Balance n Brighten, Baked Gelato Blush, Iconic Baked Sculpting Lipstick, Spackle Primer, Baked Eyeshadow

  • Melissa

Nothing to do with this but I wonder why it’s so hard to find any videos on Alexis Vogel Cosmetics? I have been wanting to see swatches of all her products for YEARS now!! And now she has the Pamela Anderson line too!!

  • Susan

I can’t justify the expense, but I’m craving those greens anyway. I’ve never tried LG baked eyeshadows and see that Ulta carries a small trio for $15 that, with my 20% off coupon, might be a good way to start. Ya think?

  • Cheryl

I have not tried LG baked eyeshadow, but I love the Balanced and Brighten foundation and blush and OMG, there are SO PRETTY! I am so tempted, but have a 20% coupon for Ulta, $100+ in Ulta credit card rewards points, and a Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette sitting in my on line cart. Ugh…the addiction is real.

  • Susan

It’s official: This set is my “puppy in the window” this Christmas. I keep coming back to look at it, over and over and over. The palettes all look great for cool-toned brown eyes, and greens are so hard to find any more.

I need this, right, ’cause I was so disappointed in the Too Faced holiday set I bought. ??? I’m getting closer to clicking the buy button. Ooooh…. easy pay option….. oooh… aaaah…. (I blame you, Muse!) 😉

    • Isabella Muse

haha Susan! go for it! and if you do let me know how it turns out! I have previous sets so I didn’t indulge this time around 🙂 Hey, if you hate it, QVC has a super return policy! xoxoxo!

      • Susan

You are an evil, evil enabler. 😉 I wish I knew someone (I am not hinting at you, just — dare I say — musing) who would go in on it with me because I don’t really need two brown palettes and two plum palettes. Guess I could sell a couple of them on eBay, right?

        • Isabella Muse

haha! 😀 I know! I’m awful! maybe someone here might reply? or try MUA? I’d totally do it because I honestly have SO many of her baked shadows it would be obscene to grab more 🙂 don’t tempt me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

          • Susan

AAAAAHHHHHH!!!! My “puppy” is out for delivery today! I blame/thank you, Muse. Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukkah, Blessed Solstice! (p.s. Did you succumb too?)

          • Isabella Muse

haha your puppy 😀 Happy Holidays my dear and a beautiful Solstice to you! I did not! I was good 🙂 I have a few of her prior sets and I felt I’d duping by indulging, so, I was good. LMK how it turns out for you! Hope you love!

  • Ashlea

I did it!! I caved in and ordered the palettes! The colors are beautiful! I did try the book of travelers shadows last year and was disappointed with the pigmentation of the colors. I am fair skinned but just didn’t seem to get a good color pay off. I did return them. My step daughter Loved them. I am hoping these are worth it and have a great color pay off. Can’t wait to try them! Do u think baked shadows are less pigmented?

    • Isabella Muse

Let me know how it works out for you, I hope they are good. Not really no, sometimes they work better when used wet!
