Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Blush Review & Swatches

Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Blush is a new luminous blush infused with Murumuru Butter that’s available in two shade selections for Spring 2017. The blushes are an extension to the Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer that launched last year.
I have to admit upon seeing these on display I almost instantly new I wouldn’t like them. But knowing how I’m quick to judge makeup I decided I’d try them and hopefully be pleasantly surprised at the outcome. You can see in the pans that they have a pretty glow to them. This is what drew me in as I had hopes they’d give me natural color and a pretty glow.

I should have known better. I hate these, with a passion. These are more of a highlighter than a blush. Actually, one one of the shades would work as a highlighter where as the other doesn’t do much at all.
It’s actually rare for me to hate on a Physicians Formula blush formula as there are so, so many I love and use daily. Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra Nourishing Argan Oil Blush, Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls Blush, Physicians Formula pH Matchmaker pH Powered Blush, Physicians Formula Cashmere Wear Blush, and the list of awesome Physicians Formula blushes goes on and on and on but Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Blush is the rare exception to the rule.

I’ll tell you one redeeming factor to these blushes, the fragrance! If Physicians Formula were to bottle up the scent they use in the Argan Blush and this new Murumuru Butter Blush and sell it, I’d totally buy it. This smells positively heavenly! Not great for sensitive users but I love it. It’s a tropical, coconut tanning oil scent that’s simply gorgeous!
The blushes come housed in a 0.26 oz dual compartment that contains the blush on the upper level and a the mirror and a compartment to hold the applicator. The applicator is the same one that appears in the new Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Cushion Correct + Primer Duo and while it works great with the corrector it doesn’t work as well with a powder blush. Apparently one side was created to apply the blush and one was created to blend with but I struggled applying the blush with the sponge a little bit.

If you’re in this purchase for a highlighter you’ll do alright with the shade Natural Glow which is a light beige peach with a golden luminous finish. Both shades are very, very sheer and produce absolutely no color but Natural Glow at least gives a nice glow where as the second shade, Plum Rose, is a rather muddy, unflattering grayish pink, heavy on the gray.
I didn’t love the formula here either. The blushes are a bit dense and picking up color was a chore with the includes sponge and event with a regular blush brush. You might get better millage if you swirl a kabuki in the shade of your choice. I also felt the color adhered to the drier areas on my cheeks in a rather bad, frost way.

I had hopes the Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Blush would provide natural color and a bit of a glow but sadly, these are a sheerer highlighter at best with a poor formula!
