Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer

Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer is back in stock and with brand new shades! Tarte’s highly sought after Shape Tape Contour Concealer has been out of stock for a bit and is it any wonder? I’ve been using this since it launched and absolutely adore it. At first, the fact that it was a contouring concealer had me a bit worried! I was also worried about the matte finish but after trying it I can confidently say it’s on my concealer keeper list. It’s pigmented, ultra creamy, and despite it’s matte finish it still blends easily and sets smoothly without settling into my finer lines.

I was quite happy with the relaunch as this launch contains brand shades bringing the number of shades available up to 14! I’m in the middle of Light Neutral and Light Medium. Light Neutral is too light and Light Medium is a smidge too yellow! There’s a new Light Sand color that I’m hoping will be just right for my skin tone.

All the color options are in stock as of now at tartecosmetics.com.

Best grab it before it disappears again!

If you’re still not convinced check out my review and swatches for a little inspiration and nudging! 🙂

Muse. I have trouble applying this concealer. The wand is big. How do you apply it? Thanks.

I dab t on my arm, swirl a concealer brush in it, and apply under my eyes!

Oooohhh…. please let us know how the light sand works out for you! I managed to get the light-medium at Ulta when they got this product back in stock (for about 30 minutes) a month or so ago. I am in the same situation that you are… It’s a bit too peachy for me, but the light neutral was way too light. I can work with the light medieum, but a neutral shade between the two would be great!

    • Isabella Muse

will def let ya know! I need a bit more lighter beige in my concealer! The light medium was ok but like you I felt it was peachy and a bit yellowish which didn’t really do well for me :-/ I also tried Medium but Medium was a smidge too dark!

      • Cheryl

How did the light sand shade work for you, Isabella? As winter continues, my skin is getting paler (oh, the dreaded desk job!) and the light medium is requiring more work to make it look natural. I wish Ulta had the light sand for me to try. Thanks!

        • Isabella Muse

returned! No go! Had to stick with light medium! It was a little too chalky, I wish it had more of a beige undertone but it looked more yellow! 🙁

          • Cheryl

Whew. Glad I asked! That stinks. They need a light medium neutral shade that is not so peachy! Thank you.

          • Isabella Muse

My pleasure! It looked like chalk on me. I’ll stick with the light medium! I need a little more beige and I’d be a happy camper!

Hey can you please recommend a colour for me?? I’m shade light in the Maybelline age rewind concealer.. and shade NC20 in mac foundations.. I’m not sure if i should go for either light neutral or light in this concealer? I have both yellow and pink undertones in my face some how.. I don’t want my concealer to be too yellow.. I want it to highlight under my eyes.. Unfortunately this concealer is not available in the UK so i’m having to order it from America which is why I can’t go to Ulta and swatch it 🙁 I need to make sure I get the right shade if I get it.. Please help!!

Do you mind me asking what colour you settled on and if it matched? We wear the same colour base

I am currently mixing the light neutral and medium, bit it isn’t perfect. I love the coverage, but by the end of the day I look very cakey even though I have oily skin and use an eye cream before applying. The Naked concealer does not cake on me, but the coverage is not as good! Maybe the light sand will be a good match though.

    • Isabella Muse

cakey? No kidding! I have none thankfully! It doesn’t crease or cake up at all on me and remains quite smooth! I have drier, finely lined eyes too! I’m going to try mixing my light medium and medium, curious if that’ll work!

I love the formula of this, but the light color oxidizes on me, so my dark circles don’t really get neutralized… I may try one of the fair shades at some point but until then I’ll stick with NARS.

Hey girl! How have you liked this compared to the rainforest of the sea concealer? I remember you raving about that one except I do agree the smell is bad. But, I find that one more hydrating, but it doesn’t cover as well. This one is a tad drying, but it covers brilliantly lol. Under eye are is too hard lol

    • Isabella Muse

I actually like this better! First off, no smell! yay! Secondly, I think the coverage is heavier which is a plus for my tired eyes. But yeah, the rainforest of the sea is more hydrating but shape tape isn’t half bad! It’s creamy and lightly hydrating and doesn’t cake or crease on me thankfully!
