About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. they look like those old clip up erasers from elementary school. i still kinda want it =)

YES, totally vintage! I had some lip balms (maybe Avon??) that looked almost identical to those back in the 1980s. Some of these things look really cool. I want to try those fingertip blending sponges!

I just ordered the hairbrush rake. Cleaning hairbrushes is a pain, trying to scrape out all of that hair. Here’s hoping that it will work and prompt me to clean my brushes more often!

    • Isabella Muse

Great minds think a like! I ordered it too! I have long hair and I shed like a yeti! This seemed nifty and less gross than using my hands 😀

  • Heather

Do you know if Sephora will be offering an extra percentage off of clearance soon? I seem to remember that they have in the past.

    • Isabella Muse

They did last year almost right after Christmas but this year no word yet! If it happens I’ll be sure to post!

Omg, I have never returned a product before, but I had to take back the cream highlighter palette b/c it was so worthless! Two of the shades are literally clear lipgloss ( kind of like MAC’s useless eye glosses) that only work if you want to be greasy looking or are doing editorial makeup. The next two shades are…subtle. Beyond subtle, but still kind of visible, I guess. And that last shade is a silver with micro-glitters but the silver color blends away completely so it just looked like I accidentally got glittery shadow all over my face or something.

That being said, the powder highlight palette is very nice at least :p

Not buying anything for as long as I can stand it! At least for the month. BUT, I would be happy to see any of these in my Play box this month! EXCEPT for that setting spray. I don’t believe everything Paula Begoun claims, but lemon and peppermint spray on my face just seems like an irritating situation for me. The sweet balms appeal to me most, too, and when I start buying again, I’d be interested to try another color of their cream lip stain. I think I like the formula of the one that came in my last play box, but I wear red lips so rarely, it will go mostly unused. I also like the look of those smokey eye sticks. But, don’t need! Don’t need anything!!!

    • Isabella Muse

I love Paula Begoun but she says practically everything is irritating :-/

  • erinface

My jaw literally dropped as I was scrolling by and saw that lip balm in the Lip Smackers Fip Gloss packaging! I will buy every single one just so I can relive my teenage glory days via lip balm lol

  • Wildfire

Omg, the sweet balms are the cutest packaging I’ve seen in a while! Definitely want one of those x
