SheaMoisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Overnight Facial Oil ($9.99) is a new facial oil that’s being added to the Shea Moisture Coconut Oil Collection. I honestly don’t need yet another facial moisture in my collection but this was on sale at CVS. You know those damn sales that tip us into the spending zone.

But like I said I already own quite a few facial oils that I love and use daily so, adding a new one didn’t quite seem like a good idea or at least not a good one until I finish up what I’m currently using like Herbivore Phoenix Cell Regenerating Facial Oil and Good Genes Luna Sleeping Night Oil. But considering the BOGO offer and the fact that I also purchased Sheamoisture’s new coconut face moisturizer it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Here are my review and thoughts.

SheaMoisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Overnight Facial Oil comes housed in a 1 oz glass dropper bottle and will set you back ten bucks at most drugstores. I actually five dollars for it at the time I purchased i because CVS was having a Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off sale.

I’ve only been using this a short time but can honestly say I really loved it. It’s a mix of several different oils one, Grape Seed Oil surprisingly be the dominate one in the mix of ingredients. The texture is light but the actually formula is considerably heavier than Argan Oils and other facial oils I’ve personally used in the past. I’d compare the heavy hydration factor to the recent Physicians Formula Organic Wear Bright Booster Oil Elixir. It’s quick enough to absorb and the formula feels light but once on skin it does leave behind a shiny dewiness which doesn’t make it a good pick for daily use in my opinion. I don’t really don’t mind the shininess as I’m going to bed anyway after application. It’s very, very hydrating. I hate to say it because I’ve spent quite a lot of money on a variety of facial oils but this is by far one of the most hydrating ones I own. It’s a rather sad fact to spend $80 plus dollars on formulas that aren’t as hydrating as a simple ten dollar one eh?

I apply as the last step in my skincare and leave it on overnight. In the morning, my face is visibly smoother, softer, and very, very, very well hydrated. It’s not a formula I’d recommend for those with oily skin as it might be too rich. But if you suffer from drier skin this will be a God sent.

SheaMoisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Overnight Facial Oil is launching now at drugstores and I imagine Ulta.com will get it shortly.

Tried it?

Whoa…. that is an EXCELLENT blend of oils for dryer skin!!! Imma hafta stop at my CVS onna way home and see if they have it – even tho I have 8,962 oils already crowding my medicine cabinet in the bathroom, they’ll have to shove over and make room for one more!!

Thanks for the review Muse – Shoot, I didn’t even know this existed, and for the $$ – Pffft…. I’ve dropped more than than on a lunch I didn’t care for… 😀

haha me too, TOO many facial oils! 😀 But I thought this was a good buy!

It’s excellent – Now – where to find it… CVS finder thingy says no one in this neck of the woods has it, and it’s not even on the shea moisture website! (how do they do that – release products then wait an eternity to put them on the website???) The Ulta link doesn’t show the oil either, at least not for me!! And I WANNIT!!! NAAAAOOOOO……..

I really love Shea Moisture products. I’m having trouble finding the Frankincense and Myrrh body wash/shampoo, etc., though–I hope they haven’t discontinued that line. Their lavender body wash/shampoo is wonderful for children (and adults, too!).

I LOVE coconut oil. But on my face it’s a nightmare. For some reason my skin just hates it. Also, castor oil is a no go for me. Ugh. But love seeing all these products! And Shea Moisture is a good brand!

I really like Shea Moisture products so I will look for this one. I’m curious… Have you ever tried the Shea Moisture serum foundation? I love the finish, as it is a super lightweight liquid formula that provides half decent coverage and a true second skin look and is not quite as glowy as the It Cosmetics cc veil. I just have problems getting it to last when applied over sun screen, and I don’t like the finish as much when applied over primer, since it seems to sit on top of my skin a bit more, rather than absorbing into it. Great clean ingredients, though. I would love to hear your thoughts, if you have tried it. You are my “skin product” review guru!

I haven’t! I keep meaning to try more of their makeup line but never have. I’ll have to be on the look out for the foundation and will def let you know what I think! I’m flattered I’m your skin product guru 😀 xoxoxoxoxoxo!

Sometimes the best products are at the drugstore, I am gonna pick this one up !

I just picked this up yesterday at a CVS and I really like it so far. The display that I found it on said it was a CVS exclusive…

I just purchased a bottle of this (like, last night, haha) and have only used it twice (last night and a little this morning), so I am glad to see you found it hydrating, because that was my main reason for trying an oil. I am fairly oily usually, but it seems my skin becomes dehydrated easily now that I am getting older, so I was hoping this would hydrate and maybe even trick my skin into producing less oil- we shall see!
