Wait, They Closed the Tower of Terror?

tower-terror

My friend Jheri, who works at Disney, posted on her Facebook timeline that she was riding the Tower of Terror for the last time. I must live under a rock, say what now? As of January 2nd, 2017 Tower of Terror is closed.

And my heart just broke into two million pieces.

It’s my favorite ride. Good news, Florida has no plans to close their version but I actually prefer Disneyland to Disney World (a lot less walking and still all of the most same action plus LA not too far away).

I seriously, head to Tower of Terror as soon as the part opens and proceed to ride it back to back like ten times. I still remember the year I finally convinced my sister to ride it and let me tell you it was funniest thing every. Have you ever seen vomit airborne before? Thankfully it didn’t happen in the ride but as we exited we had to head down a rather large flight of stairs and she just let it go. The poor guy in front of us could have ended up with a mess on his head but thankfully he dodged a bullet. This is why it’s called blow chunks!

I’m so sad though! I can’t believe they are closing it down. It’ll be re-opened soon for a Guardian of the Galaxy style ride which is actually similar to Tower of Terror. Don’t get me wrong Guardian of the Galaxy is brilliant but I adore the Twilight Zone, have the biggest crush on Rod Serling, and loved the ambience of the entire ride.

RIP Tower of Terror, you’re loved and will be missed.

Back to makeup now!

Hi muse – think the one at Disneyland is getting a Guardian of Galaxy update.

    It’ll be back – just re-purposed

My fiance and I went to Disneyland at the beginning of December as a Christmas gift to each other. I made such a big deal about needing to ride Tower of Terror at least once before it closed, even though I don’t like falling rides like that. We stood in line for 80 minutes and I almost chickened out. I was so anxious about it. And I hated it. If the ride would’ve been 10 seconds longer, I would’ve started crying. As it was, I was gripping the metal pipes next to me so hard my hands were shaking for at least 20 minutes after we got off. But now I know. I can say that I did it and I definitely don’t need to go back when it’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

omg! My sister was very very upset as well! She vomited and was just generally scared to attempt any other ride after that poor thing! I typically go on like ten times haha! But I have to admit no matter how many times I ride it, I still get that shaky feeling in my stomach when I wait on line to board!

I love that ride! I was sad to hear it was over. I am an annual pass holder so I heard awhile ago. My husband is so glad it is closed……. he hates the ride. I made our 8 year old get on with us. It was so funny to see his face……. and we bought the proof too.
