Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray Just Dangerous for Shimmer Addicts!

Remember that one time I told you that illuminating facial sprays would be a thing soon? Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray ($31) proves my theory that everyone and perhaps their mom will be releasing some sort of glowing makeup setting spray in the coming months.

Ok, so, I’m like the total nay sayer here because I’m thinking of myself in 7th grade. That was the year that I discovered boys could be more than just your friend, became a Scholastic drug addict, and had a thing for all over glitter hair and body spray.

I don’t see the point in setting my makeup with a spray that gives my skin a glow. I’m picturing a ton of shimmer or glitter or mica or sparkle all over the place. Isn’t the point of highlighter to accent certain areas on your face but not your entire complexion!? Let’s face it, I’ve always readily admitted I’m no expert at powder highlighter because I’m heavy handed. Imagine taking that powder and putting it in a spray bottle? I’d be misting myself madly. You can’t give sparkle crack in a bottle to a self proclaimed shimmer lover and ask them to just lightly mist themselves with it. I’ll be spraying it everywhere including under my arms.

Not to mention it seems odd to me to mist highlighter all over my face. But who knows, this could work and it could potentially deliver a luminous finish to your skin that looks amazing. I have doubts though as they recommend it as a face and body mist that gives an intense glow.

Mmmhmmm watch me overdue it.

Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray is available now at Sephora.com.
Do you trust yourself enough to use it?

I could see wanting to use something like this for a crazy concert or festival of some sort, but for that purpose, I’d be willing to spend like $5-$10, not $30 +.

This is very odd indeed! I swear I also recently saw a spray highlighter that was coming out, although I can’t remember the brand. I prefer a more targeted application for my highlighter! Who knows – maybe this will be more like my NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray than just spray-on glitter…? Color me curious!

Wander Beauty has one that I posted about last week. maybe that’s it! I’m curious too! I really want to see it in action!

Oh my God I’ve died and gone to heaven. I have never been able to use setting sprays before because of the high alcohol content and fragrance. I just checked and this setting spray has neither! Yay! I have dry skin but I use EL Double Wear. Love the tenacity of that foundation but hate the flat matte look. This spray sounds like it will solve that problem perfectly! So excited about this! Will be ordering mine today! 🙂

I got this the other day and I love it. I really like luminous products- I do not like to be matte. It is such a fine mist, the most fine I have come across in a setting spray, and it sets the makeup very well. It definitely has a shimmer, and you need to shake the bottle well (it looks scary sprayed on your hand!) You can build this up or play it down. One layer just gives you the most subtle “glow from within” look- you cant see the shimmer but you just look more radiant. It is beautiful!!!

Oh wow sounds lovely thanks for the update Katie 😀 I wasn’t sure how I felt about misting my face with something that contained shimmer!
