About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I had been stalking the MAC and Nordstrom websites since I first heard about this palette. Mind you, I’m not a big fan of MAC – with the exception of the 15-pan eyeshadow palettes. I have ’em all so I had to have this. As soon as it went live last week, I placed the order. It is en route as I type.

On the first day of its release, Macy’s had it on the website for 32.00, same as the 9 pan palettes. I was like WTF???? I clicked on it to buy because I knew the price was wrong and it was out of stock. Either they sold out ASAP or Macy’s figured it out.

I have a funny feeling that this palette will be a bit of a dud – so many of the shades (paler ones) look very similar to each other and when MAC tries to do mattes, it often fails. I think these shades are fairly common and live in lots of our other palettes.
