Surprise, surprise — I want the two eye shadow palettes! Hopefully by the release date, UD will have available for sale the new eye shadow primers as well.

Slightly off topic but if you don’t already know, there’s a new 15 pan Bare Minerals palette at Ulta. I ordered it a few days ago and hope to have it soon.

    • Isabella Muse

I gott hat one too haha I was going to blog it today, hope it is good!

  • Sarah

Ooooh this is going to be a hard pass. I never was a fan of Basquiat and the packaging is oh my goodness. I wouldn’t want that on my vanity. The products too, they don’t look like something I’d use every day. But if the formulation is good, I WOULD give it a second thought!

  • Susan

Shocker — I’m most drawn to the blush palette! You big enabler, you. 😉

  • Heidi

Oh, this is interesting. I hope you can swatch this for us when it’s out!

  • MM Curator

Oh my goodness! Will definitely be needing that lovely collector’s set (and the bags, probably!) Thanks for the heads up, can’t wait!!

  • Chris

The artwork reminds me of Dia de los Muertos. The pencils look interesting.

I swore off any more warm/neutral palettes….and then came Gold Griot. Must. Have. And just in time for my birthday !

  • Isa

I think this collaboration fits in with Urban Decay’s brand aesthetic very well, and the products look well thought out for the most part. I like the colourful palette the best; my eye is always drawn to colour, even though I’m so so bad at actually working with them on my eyelids. The least interesting product to me is the blush palette… the colours don’t look very unique.

That said, I’m a philistine and I’m less drawn to this kind of graphic design than I am to the cute and kitschy and just plain pretty stuff. 🙁

  • Emily

Will wait for reviews, but some of these are really calling to me! I hope they perform as well as they look pretty!

  • Lindsey

As an Art History major and makeup lover, it seems to be a must for me to purchase this collection!

  • Lesley A.

I love that colorful palette, and not too many shades, which for me is a plus. (I find large palettes overwhelming.)

The neutral one is really nice too, though I am thinking I already have most of those shades somewhere. And that lighter brown lipstick and maybe the middle one too. Yes, I may well be tempted.

Do you think they will sell out fast, i.e. I need to set an alarm?

    • Isabella Muse

I’m really not sure to be honest. It’s so hard to say what will and won’t sell out nowadays!

  • Nicole

I’m tempted to to try and snag the vault and sell off what I don’t want from it since it’s such a better deal that way. There probably won;t be very many at all of the vaults though, I would imagine.

  • Amber G.

So snagging that vault. I’m a huge Basquiat fan..an even bigger UD fan, so it makes the most sense. Obvs I’ll be getting my hands on those makeup bags too! TAKE ALL THE MONIES, URBAN DECAY!

  • Iris

Never tried UD before but I’m very tempted. Love the colours for the two palettes and Exhibition and Abstract from the lipsticks.

I hope these are available at Sephora; if so, I’ll be likely ordering the two palettes and Abstract. I’ll be testing Exhibition in stores to see if it works with my pale skin. Cheers for the heads up!

  • Susan

It’s out now at UD’s web site but the vault apparently sold out in about two seconds. Ulta and Sephora will have the products next week.

There are swatches of everything online and I still only want the blush palette which looks fantastic. I’m not into contouring and highlighting much but those two shades in the blush palette will make great eye shadows.

  • Michelle Luna

Woah. I’ve never heard of this guy but I really like the look of these palettes, though owning the Nakeds is enough neutral to last my lifetime (I’ve actually not even really used them and I’ve had them for years, I guess I just like collecting UD) and I’ve probably already got all of those bright shades from one brand or another. I definitely plan on getting that lime green liner though. Like Isa up there, I love color though not very good at actually using them (damn my oily hooded lids) unless it’s in small amounts such as eyeliner. But I really like the crazy packaging. Are the blushes repromotes? Cause I really like that Noho shade, but I don’t use blush enough (rosacea, I’m rosy enough) to justify a 4-pan palette just because I like the packaging… or does it? Haha
