Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Lip Palette ($7.99) is a new, limited-edition 16 shade lipstick and lipgloss palette that launched with the Wet n Wild Queen of my Heart Spring 2017 Collection. This is quite fun, different, and cute for Wet n Wild! Even though I’m not a huge lip palette kind of girl I always feel somewhat compelled to indulge them because I LOVE mixing colors. I feel like a mad scientist mixing, matching, and combing shades to create something entirely new. There’s something terribly satisfying about creating a unique, custom shade.

Ahem not to mention the rather childish heart packaging caught my eye instantly because we all know how I love my cute packaging.

The Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Lip Palette is adorable and it may garner the attention of fans and makeup collector’s but the practicality of the palette isn’t quite there. This palette pays home to 16 shades all of which are housed in tiny little heart wells. Remind you of anything? Yeah, I instantly though of the Too Faced Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette too! As cute as the packaging is you’ll be disappointed at the amount of product each well contains. After swatching and a single application I hit pan on these tiny little portions. I might be missing something but I looked all over the packaging for a size and could not find one but the total palette likely holds LESS than half an ounce of lipstick and lipgloss. You can see below that after a swatch from the brush I hit pan.

On the upside, the palette comes with a very user friendly lip brush that has nice wide bristles or application and is dual-sided for mixing and matching shades. About 90% of the shades in the palette are actually quite pigmented with a few sheerer, shimmery gloss-like shades that you can mix or use to add shine to your look. The formula isn’t actually half bad. There’s a bit of patchiness if you have drier lips like mine but if you stroke the formula over your lips a few times you’ll get a very smooth finish. They tend to separate and fall into my natural lip lines so building and smoothing, stroking over is the best technique to use during application. The colors are light, creamy, and non-drying however, they don’t wear very long and tend to fast away easily but there are no migration or feathering issues. There’s a very light plastic smell to the lipsticks but they do not have a flavor nor a fragrance that I noticed.

One thing I would have liked is a more easier to wear shade selection. Some of the shades are difficult to wear and look chalky on my lips. But the darker shades are lovely! I used a few shades in my looks below.

Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Lip Palette is cute but it seems like more of a collector’s piece. There’s so little product in the palette you can probably use this up a two week period when used daily…! Some folks might feel the palette is a little juvenile as well considering it looks like something you’d purchase for a child. But I can see Wet n Wild fans being very excited about it.

The Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Lip Palette is launching now at drugstores or you can buy the entire Queen of my Heart Collection as a bundle that includes this palette for $29.99 wetnwildbeauty.com.

The packaging is super cute! I was planning on buying for that reason alone, and then depotting the colors and turning it into a custom lip palette. If I find a good sale, I still might!

I saw this in CVS when I bought the highlighters but I passed since it looked like there was little product and I didn’t know if my lip brush would fit in the little hearts.

lip brush is good, fits into the wells fine, but it’s SO little product!

I saw one YouTube review that said that the weight of the product was the same as one tube…just divided into 16 wells, LOL.

I don’t remember off-hand. I think average? I was binge watching reviews while on the treadmill. Sorry!

I love lip palettes and I’ve been eying this hard but I don’t think it’s for me!! It is cute though. The lip brush looks decent too! I hope they make more brushes.

Hi, Muse. I took your positive review of the Clinique lip palette a year or so ago, and I love it! This one made me gasp when I saw it in the drugstore because I immediately thought of my grand-niece who is almost 5. Her mother–who’s in the beauty industry–and I have encouraged her curiosity because makeup’s fun and almost certainly encourages creativity. And my grand-niece loves lip palettes! I know because my big Urban Decay lip sample set has been pretty much all used up. It’ll be in her Easter basket from her AJ. I know I can’t wait until her birthday.

Hi AJ! The pretty easy palette? that was a cute one 😀 Aw your grand niece will love that for sure 😀

My Walgreens has it for $5.99 so it might be worth it just for the brush! Lol

This palette is the only thing I haven’t ordered I almost purchased the entire set on line but since I have purchased already different items most of of it all then I only ordered what I was missing but it is so, so cute I might end up giving to evil temptation.
