Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts Might Remind You of Something!

Ulta continues to expand their Makeup Revolution universe since they launched the British brand on their site in 2015. Late last week, they finally started carrying the Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts Blusher, Highlighter, and Bronzer all of which are $7. And all of which, look a lot like a certain Too Faced Sweethearts Blush we all know!

I have a few of these in my stash that I hauled back when they originally launched on the Makeup Revolution website. I remember stalking the mail man for airmail from the UK. I couldn’t wait to get my greedy hands on them to say the least. I never reviewed them but I think I should start hauling them out and swatching them now that they are so readily available at Ulta.com.

Cute right? And very much like the Too Faced ones!

P.S. Happy Tuesday! Did you get through Monday ok? It was pretty busy for me but a good, productive one none the less! Hope your work day goes by fast!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Yes please on a review of these! They are very pretty, but I am concerned that they may be to shimmery for my liking. You take the best swatch photos…I would love to see them!

    • Isabella Muse

aw I dunno about the best but thanks haha! They are shimmery :-/ I’ll def swatch get a review up for ya 😀

Our local Ulta finally started carrying three of the MR chocolate bar eyeshadow palettes. Do you have any of those to swatch/review? I’d love to see these blushes swatched too.

The more I try MR, the more I like the brand. I know some people have their knickers in a twist because waaah, MR is a copycat, but I’m more in the “Why should I pay $50 for something from Company X when MR has it for $15?” camp.

    • Isabella Muse

I do! I’ll see about getting them up! I purchased a few when they launched several hundred year’s ago but never got a chance to review them! They aren’t quite TF dupes that’s for sure 🙂 but they aren’t bad either! 😀

    • Randi MacDonald

As long as you realize they are dupes. The MR products are made in China(IIRC) and the Too faced are made in the USA>

  • Dee

These are so much like the Too Faced products! I always wonder how companies get away with this…although I guess it’s like knock off designer clothing and bags?

  • M

This is the exact reason I won’t buy from this brand. Duping high end products at budget friendly price? Good. Ripping off other brands’ packaging, concepts, naming, color scheme? I’m not okay with that. I have heard good things about their product quality, though.

    • Isa

Yeah, I’m on the fence on this brand because of this reason. I get duping colour schemes and formulas and I think it’s a good thing that people can get access to good products at multiple price points. But to also ripoff the name and packaging takes it to a different level IMO. Plently of brands have given their take on the concept of the naked palettes but it’s never been this blatant.

I want to try this brand’s highlighters and blushes, but something about how they shamelessly rip off packaging from premium brands bothers me. I know that MR fills an important niche – quality cosmetics at an affordable price – but do they have to copy the packaging too? It reminds me of when I was in high school and I would buy Coach knock-offs at the flea market. I just told myself it was close enough.

But if you write a review I’ll be eager to see your thoughts on this product!

    • Isabella Muse

this brand Shills in Taiwan use to have exactly the same packaging of Benefit! It’s pretty crazy how similar stuff looks!

  • Jennifer German

To reinforce what Cheryl posted, you DO take great swatch photos! The colors are pretty close to true and seeing them on real skin makes the decision to hunt them down easier for me, out here in Sephora-less town 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

aw thanks Jennifer! You’re too kind! I’m not a great photographer at all but thank you so much!

  • Melissa

Yes, please do swatches and a review. I have been debating whether or not to buy any of these.
