About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Just my two cents because I’ve have many Morphe palettes — some are good, some are not so good, and that’s within the palette itself. Generally, the shimmers perform better than the mattes, but I can usually get those to work. Primer is a must! But for the price, they are a guilt-free indulgence.

I wanted to get that Jaclyn Hill one that everyone was going on and on and on about but never did! Something told me I really didn’t need another massive natural, nude palette with a mediocre formula lol! I can’t remember, but did we discuss Natural Love yet? I know last time you were waiting for it to arrive. What did you think?

  • Christina D.

I have the Jaclyn Hill one…it’s OK for the price point. But I do not understand the rave reviews. An easy pass for most of us make up junkies with way too much stuff already.

I did get the TF Natural Love palette and I’m glad it’s not enormous; storage has become prime real estate! I haven’t applied it to my eyes yet because I have been working my way through my ridiculous stash of older stuff in an attempt to downsize. But I will play with it this weekend and let you know. Thanks for asking (I’m impressed that you remember with all you have going on).

Not to diss on JH but she made a massive deal out of how pigmented it was and I had a little bit of skepticism because a lot of the palettes remind me of Coastal Scents which like you said are good but nothing near mid-range quality! LOL I actually didn’t because I thought maybe you told me your reviews/thoughts already and I somehow forgot about it. but I couldn’t recall us talking about it after I reviewed it aside from some comments back and fourth about my review but not what you thought. Senior moments abound here! 😀 I’m looking forward to your thoughts. I wasn’t super impressed with it, it’s ok, just not incredible yanno? I’m very curious to see what you think! I do like the storage on it. It’s thin yet still holds a lot of colors and doesn’t take up a ton of space 😀

If we were neighbors — not that we live that far from each other — I would knock on the door and hand you the JH palette for you to review. You are the expert and completely unbiased!

BTW the palette in the picture is the newest Morphe release called “Gold” and the colors so remind me of you.

we REALLY need to get together soon! 🙂 So close yet so far! 😀 Is it still available or did it sell out? I was so tempted to buy it! Awww thanks I’m flattered gold and nudes make you think of me hehe I consider them my shades for sure!

We truly do. I think we’ve been talking for about 3 or 4 years now and, with Spring right around the corner, we have to make the time.

It looks like the palette is still available on Morphe’s site. Unfortunately, the thresh hold for free shipping is high, but I always manage to find an on-line discount code for Morphe which somewhat negates the shipping.

Yes, I always think of you with warm palettes or bronzes and golds. And they do suit you!

    • Isabella Muse

YES! although yesterday was like the only nice day we’ve had in a while lol! So much rain and clouds and doom and gloom 😀 But yes, let’s do that! We keep saying we will and either you get busy or I get busy and we never do it 🙂 For some reason I thought it sold out! I’m going to stroll on over to retailmenot.com see if I can find a coupon! Aw thanks girl I love ya!

Why does Hautelook say the list price for the palettes is $39.99? They sell for $22.99 on Morphe’s website. Granted, $15 is less than $22.99, but it’s kind of disingenuous, don’t you think? Or am I missing something?

    • Isabella Muse

I can’t say I’m familiar with Morphe’s original prices so, I’m clueless! Sorry!?

      • Laurie

I went looking at eyeshadow palettes yesterday, which is why I noticed. I ended up not buying any of them; none were exactly right for me, which is hard to believe, but there you go.

  • Isa

Eh, I’ve never tried any Morphe either. I’m now really tired of the Guru collabs and youtube hype style of marketing and I’m actually less inclined to buy a product or brand if it seems to be the sort that is based around that.
