Let’s face it, when we think of inexpensive fragrance picks that are $20 bucks and under it just might take us back to our high school days when Baby Soft and Exclamation was the height of our fragrance sophistication. But I think there’s something terribly satisfying about paying under $20 for a perfume and actually loving how it smells. I consider myself a fragrance snob of a sort. I enjoy niche and indie perfumes as well as higher end that cost more than I care to admit or mention. But I’m willing to admit I also love a good deal.

I think searching out an inexpensive perfume can be a daunting task. I mean we have Bath & Body Works which has a wide array of fragrance mists that are quite inexpensive not to mention The Body Shop. But I find both rather repetitive in their launches. As a fragrance lover there’s something terribly satisfying about finding some new scent that’s super affordable yet smells wonderful! But it isn’t always easy to find these picks and as they say you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince!

That’s why I thought I’d share these 5 inexpensive under $20 fragrance picks!

Jennifer Lopez My Glow $18
As you may know I’m a hardcore gourmand fragrance lover and I adore sweet, fruity scents as well. Light floral fragrance rarely factor into my fragrances of choice but My Glow is one that tops my list and it’s super inexpensive as well. This light, clean floral has a beautiful musky base that’s softened with sandalwood and just a delicate amount of freesia, peony, and lotus. It’s a cleah, fresh floral that isn’t intrusive, beautifully work safe, and wears close to the skin.

Gale Hayman Delicious Cotton Candy and Delicious Vanilla ($13-$16)
If you’re looking for a true tooth-achingly sweet cotton candy Gale Hayman’s Delicious Cotton Candy fragrance is for you. This isn’t your typical Pink Sugar scent. It’s a more true and sweet cotton candy! But user beware, it’s over the top sweet! For the vanilla fans and ones who adore Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar you’ll adore Delicious Vanilla. This is a warm, comforting vanilla that has a slightly toasted caramel element. The joy of Gale’s fragrance is not only the fact they smell great and won’t kill your bank account but also the fact they have such great wear and throw!

Ok, so I might have went a smidge over budget by a dollar on this one but it’s worth it! I had just mentioned a few days ago how much I missed Jessica’s Dessert Beauty bath and body collection but never fear girlfriend still makes some fabulous gourmand scents. Fancy is a beautiful gourmand that combines elements of sweetness with more traditional gourmand notes such as amber to create an explosive scent that’s sweet and slightly fruity with just the right elements of warmth.

Beckham Intimately Beckham Night $8.44
The best under ten bucks you’ll spend in your life comes in the form of David Beckham’s difficult to find in a large bottle, Intimately Night Perfume. This sophisticated floriental reminds me of a richer version of Dita Von Teese’s Erotique. If Dior or Guerlain slapped their logo on it they could probably sell it for $200 a bottle and no one would blink an eye. This is a sexy, pin-up girl style fragrance that’s creamy, spicy, and slightly sweet with strong notes of amber and patchouli mixed with tuberose and vetiver. Wear it and have people believing you paid a $100 or dollars for a bottle.

    I have one to add: SJP’s Lovely. I saw varying prices for it online, but looks like it’s easily purchased for at or under $20 (although Ulta has it for $68, WTF). (Although did see a comment on Target that the bottle received was not the same/of poorer quality — I think I got mine on fragrance.net.) It’s kind of a flowery/light musk. I love it (and I am admittedly kind of snobby about celebrity perfumes). Great addition to any perfume collection.

    Jennifer Lopez Still is one of my faves. I think you can usually find it at Target or Amazon for about $12 bucks.

    We need computer smell-O-vision to have better discussions about this topic, lol.

    Oh yes, I’m quite the perfume junkie! All of these smell good. Thanks for reminding me, especially of the Gale Hayman. Love those, and lol what a coincidence, I just happened to get the warm vanilla sugar, sensual amber and couple other mists from a bath and body works sale not too long ago. But me loves some perfume so I think I’m going to pick some of these up! 🙂

    I’m a big fan of Al Rehab perfume oils. They usually run about $6 each, so they’re a great cheap thrill. And they usually have great throw and staying power, too.

        I think I’ve mentioned them here before, so probably! They’re awesome, aren’t they? They’re great quality, and cheap enough that I don’t feel bad if I don’t like one.

    Fancy is one of my favorites! I don’t wear it all the time and don’t think I’ll ever use up a bottle but I love having it. And I’m sure I got it for even less than $21 somewehre.

    I quite like Charlie Gold and Aquolina Pink Sugar. I’m not really much of a fragrance snob, I can’t really tell if something smells cheap or expensive. I just like what I like, and a lot of the time, if it’s really sweet and vanillic, I will like it.

        IKR! The bottle itself looks like something out of the 50s or something. But it’s actually a recent discovery for me. Bought it blind after reading about it on fragrantica.

    Gale Hayman Delicious Cotton Candy is my all time favourite fragrance! I get bombarded with compliments whenever I wear it!
    I had no idea it was so inexpensive: since I am a fragrance snob, I likely would have turned my nose up! However, there is no indication in it’s use that it’s a budget product. I stumbled across it years ago at the Canadian equivalent of TJ Max & bought it simply for the packaging: I had no idea of the fragrance. Once I got t home & smelled it, I fell in love! it’s very difficult to come by in Canada, so if & when I spot it, I buy it all!

      Yay! 😀 I thought I was alone loving it! It’s truly a great gourmand 😀 A lot of sites carry it for really cheap! So, you can def score a deal and have it shipped for not a ton of $$!

    Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door and Armani’s Beverley Hills for Women are two of my favourites that are often around the $20 – $25 mark. Great everyday perfumes.

    I immediately placed an order for the Beckham and Gale Hayman fragrances after reading this post. Do you have any suggestions for a “beach” scent? I have BB Beach, Bond Fire Island, and the JWow scent (can’t remember the name). All are good but none have that perfect Hawaiian Tropic/sunscreen/ sun scent I’m looking for.

      yay! Let me know what you think when they arrive. If you want beachy, all of Jennifer Aniston’s scents really capture the spirit of the ocean, the beach, the warm sands, etc…! If you want a Hawaiin Tropics like scent they actually have a range of body mists launched in the UK that smell exactly like their sunscreens you can probably find them easily on ebay 🙂 Also, Lathers n Lights has a host of beautiful summer scents with notes of coconut, pineapple, etc…http://www.lathersnlights.com/scents.html Hope this helps!
