Sometimes you just have to deal with bad fragrance skincare. Take Chosungah 22 Van Jill Essence for example, it’s a delightfully hydrating but horribly scented. Ugh! I swear it smells like a roll of Charmin toilet paper. Gag!

But I’m so willing to deal with the fragrance because this is one amazing essence.

Chosungah 22 Van Jill Essence is one of my favorite essences outside of Dr Jart Ceramidin Liquid and Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium Hyaluronic Acid Lotion. If you can deal with the scent, go for it.

Ok, so let me start by saying the scent isn’t horrible! It’s just strong. It’s a fresh rose fragrance that reminds me of scented toilet paper and no, not used toilet paper….!

This one comes in a squeezable bottle that has a tiny spout located at the top which you can dab essence out of or squeeze the bottle to release a squirt into your hand. You can apply it before your serum and moisturizer and after cleansing and toning. It’s a thicker gel consistency that absorbs easily but does leave skin slightly sticky but sets to a smooth, soft finish. It’s very, very hydrating so, I would use as part of your nightly routine and not your daily one. You’ll find it not only hydrates but allows your moisturizer to absorb more easily.

It’s formulated with ceramides as well as goat milk extract which act to hydrate and deeply nourish skin. Apparently it’s also a brightening formula but I’d say that’s because it is so highly hydrating as the more moisture you’re getting the less duller your skin will appear.

I can’t express how much I love this stuff and I’ll happily purchase it again and again and again! I just wish the scent was a little different or if they dropped the fragrance completely I’d be fine with that too!

You know what else smells icky? Elizabeth Arden’s eight hour cream which looks more like vasaline. I bought this cause it was something Marilyn Monroe used it. I just couldn’t use it. My neice in the UK agreed and ended up using it for her babies rashes!
