I purchased the new Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate ($39) recently and it took a mere single try for me to fall madly in love with it. It’s probably one of Clinique’s best products to date and I imagine it’ll become cult favorite product rather quickly. If you’re in the market for an essence, you’re looking for more moisture, or perhaps you want a lightweight moisturizer, you should get on famously with Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate.

Let’s take a look at my review below.

Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate arrives in a 1.6 oz pump and is a fragrance and oil-free formula that acts to deliver 24 hours of lasting moisture to skin. It’s actually a formula most anyone can use because it doesn’t create unnecessary greasiness or shine and isn’t so emollient that it creates a layer of moisture atop skin. It absorbs in a snap and leaves skin soft and smooth but without leaving behind slick moisture.

It could be classified as an essence of sorts or you could just call it a lightweight moisturizer. Clinique recommends it for use in either way. How do I use it? Well, Summer is coming and the warmer weather with it which means I’ll be using this as a lightweight moisturizer. But right now, it works best under my regular moisturizer. The formula is a gel-like consistency that you can apply prior to moisturizer. It absorbs in a snap and a single pump will cover your entire face. The texture is a lightweight gel consistency which isn’t sticky nor tacky and it absorbs in a snap and leaves behind super soft, hydrated, and plumped up skin. You’ll find it preps skin nicely and allows your moisturizer to absorb more easily into your skin. It’ll also act to seal in moisture which results in smoother, softer, well hydrated skin throughout the day. This ensures your makeup will look incredibly smooth and soft as well and your foundation will apply more easily.

I think there are any number of products on the market that deliver excellent moisture but Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate actually provides lasting moisture that you’ll feel even if you aren’t applying this daily. The results are immediate and you can visibly feel and see how well this hydrates. If you suffer from duller skin you’ll notice that your complexion will appear brighter and fresher as this gives it a much needed boost of hydration. My skin was softer and smoother with results that lasted all day.

I can’t rave this one enough. I think they did an excellent job with it. I wouldn’t say it contains a host of incredible ingredients but it does do exactly what they intended it to and that’s give your skin a supercharge boost of moisture without making it greasy or shiny. I was impressed I could easily wear this in the day as well as in the evening. It works fabulously under makeup without ever being too heavy.

Loves it!

Muse Approval for purchase.

This one is a must for everyone.

I agree… I love this product…. ordered it as soon as I saw it.

Thanks for the review, been waiting to hear your thoughts 🙂

Is this better than the Hado Labo for example? I’m always on the search for something hydrating that isn’t sticky or shiny looking. I don’t do the glow. Haha!

    • Isabella Muse

Nope 😀 I won’t give up my beloved Hado Labo for anything. But this is a lot less stickier and it can be worn in the AM. I can’t wear Hado Labo in the day so this is a nice replacement!

      • Christina Tran

Then this is a definite serum to try out. I can use the Hado Labo in the morning, but I have to wait FOREVER for it to sink in, which I don’t have time for. LOL! So I go around with a sticky and shiny face. :\ That’s why I said I don’t do the glow. Haha!

        • Isabella Muse

I can’t even with Hado Labo in the morning! No way! I use it in the evening only 😀 This would be a much better option! Ha! You must shine in the dark if you use Hado Labo in the AM! I look like a grease ball after using it hehe!

          • Christina Tran

Yup, I glow in the dark with it on. I’m a heck of a lot oilier than you, too. Haha! I’ll give this a try. Thanks for the review.

Embrace it, you’ll stay younger way longer 😀 My pleasure my friend!

Waaaa another product that didn’t work for me. I bought it with the Sephora sale and tried it twice. Didn’t moisturize anything. It felt like water going on and when it dried my skin felt tight like I had just used a harsh toner. Definitely not for my sensitive skin. I was surprised because I’ve been using Clinique forever and only had an issue once a few years ago when a sunscreen from them burned my face badly. Going to return it.

    • Isabella Muse

oh no sorry Cindy! 🙁 That stinks! I’m shocked! I thought it was so gentle!

  • Adrienne

I got a little sample at Mays she had them left over from an event a few weeks ago. I am a combo/oily so I will try using it at night to see how it reacts with my skin.

  • Jane

I’m a Clinique Essence fan, so I’m in. But their prices lately! Ugh

  • Lisa

I bought this as soon as it went up on Sephora. I LOVE IT. I’m combo/oily skin and it’s amazing. I love how light it is as a morning moisturizer. Also kinda find it funny that they have a man version too but it’s the same thing, just blue colored…..But kudos to Clinque!

  • Lynn

I bought it during the Sephora VIB Sale after seeing your initial post on it. I’m so glad I did, it’s an awesome product! This is going to be a staple in my skincare arsenal from now on!

  • Jay

I saw this on Nordstrom.com and just knew it would be a winner. Glad to know you like it 🙂 I recently lost my jar of the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief and my skin has been crying lol.

  • Abbey W.

I bought this in the Sephora sale and have been loving it lately. I use it at night after my snail essence and before moisturizer, and I feel like it just sandwiches in extra moisture. And it’s a nice price.

  • EugeneJ

Would you say it’s similar to the l’oreal hydra genius gel interms of formula and moisture?

    • Isabella Muse

No, L’Oreal’s formula is more of a creamy consistency, this is a gel. The moisture is levels are different as well. Clinique’s formula will give you lasting moisture even if you skip using it a day or two where as L’Oreal’s formula delivers instant results but doesn’t have long lasting moisture benefits. Not to mention this formula doesn’t contain fragrance or alcohol both of which appear in L’Oreal’s formula.

  • Annie

I’ll have to get a sample! I love hydrating serums under moisturizer for my dry skin. Is this similar to the Clinique Extended Thirst relief gel? Wondering if it’s more potent.

  • Margo Bellock

Do I apply the moisture surge in place of a serum?
OR, do I apply moisture surge, serum, moisturizer, and then make-up?

  • Bernadette

This is absolutely one of my favorite skin products! Fell in love with it on the first use. I use it with my 3 step regimen from Clinique. It makes my face hydrated and therefore makes your skin look so good and I have to say I have Happy Skin again with no breakouts or excess oiliness but yet very hydrated. I am in love and addicted to this stuff. Thanks for your great review also. It is a must have.

    • Isabella Muse

yay so glad you love it. I really like it too! really a great summer addition to my skincare ;-D
