Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner Review

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner ($44) brings me way back to days when rose water and glycerin were a staple of my skincare routine. I used to be utterly obsessed with Burt’s Bees Rosewater Toner! It was such a staple part of my skincare routine because it acted so well at restoring loss moisture after a cleansing.

The new Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner takes everything I love about rose water and glycerin and injects it with Hyaluronic Acid and makes it twice as awesome as ever before.

I swear I feel like a fancy Victorian lady whenever I take out this bottle of Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner! There are actually rose petals suspended inside the toner formula which gives the toner such a luxuriously vintage look and feel. But the real rose petals actually act to infuse the toner with a beautiful rosy scent as well as beneficial oils that soften skin.

I personally use toner to restore moisture and balance after cleansing. No one likes that awful tight feeling after cleansing. It almost feels like your skin is two sizes too small for your face. In order to restore balance and moisture, toning is a necessary step after cleansing and no, not essence, essence is the step that comes after you tone 🙂

See, essence is a fabulous product for adding more moisture and prepping your skin for moisturizer but toner is a nice way to add immediate hydration to your skin after you cleanse while removing any impurities, makeup, or gunk that was left behind after a cleanse. It’s a good way to balance out your skin and get it back to normal after a cleansing. This formula is infused with real rose petals that act to remove any gunk that’s hanging out on your face after a clean while prepping skin for your other skincare and giving it a nice little splash of hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump skin while aiding it in retaining moisture.

The lovely rose scent is a plus for me but beware if you’re sensitive as it is strongly scented. To use it, simply saturated a larger piece of facial cotton or a cotton square with the toner and swipe across freshly cleansed, dried skin. I find the formula has a little bit of a slicker feel but this is pretty standard with glycerin toners. It isn’t oily nor shiny nor will it leave behind a greasy film but it does have a certain slick feel that settles into skin and gives it a nice moist feel.

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner is a great way to soften and smooth skin after cleansing to eliminate that tightness your cleansing may have left behind. It also acts as the perfect companion and prep prior to applying essence and other products in your skincare routine. I think some people believe that toning is a thing of the past but believe me your skin will thank you if you tone directly after cleansing as it’ll eliminate dullness while hydrating skin and this particular formula will aid skin in retaining moisture which will result in clearer, brighter skin.

Can’t Muse Approve this one enough! Loves it!

Hah! I want it just because it’ll look so fancy and pretty sitting on my vanity. I’m not a fan of sticker toners, so this might not be a good choice for me, and I actually skip toner all together and go straight to the essence. LOL! I’m lucky that I don’t have super dry skin and can safely skip toners.

LOL! I feel this way about ALL rose toners 😀 they are just so fancy and lady-like 😀 I actually tone compulsively after a cleanse. it just brings back much needed moisture to my skin after a deep cleanse ;D

Hmmm, now I’m starting to wonder if I’m cleaning my face thoroughly. I tend to splash essence on with my hands as opposed to pouring it on a cotton pad and swiping my face (don’t want to waste all that expensive product!), so I have no clue if my face is truly clean after washing. A toner would obviously solve this problem, but I am just so lazy to add another step in.

lol! oh god don’t overthink it 😀 If you have micellar water on hand you can swipe after your cleanse ;D Double up as a toning experience with your micellar water -D I tend to pour and palm essence on too. It’s a waste to use a cotton pad with essence imho!

I don’t use often since I have rather dry/combination skin and getting old but after just using Cera Vé facial cleanser I used my Witch Hazel Toner with a cotton on face & neck and hardly noticed any residue left over so that means that sucker is really cleaning well I guess? The Cera Ve I meant. Lol! Great products! I keep buying the entire line next their spf! Eucerin is great also a bit higher protection tgan my current Traders Joe’s one which I love. No breakouts!
