Kat Von D Lock-It Blotting Powder Will Keep Your Foundation Looking Fresh

Everyone has been awaiting the release of the Kat Von D Lock-It Blotting Powder and it’s finally here. This one arrives in four shade selections for fair, light, medium, and deep complexions. It’s formulated to set makeup and also helps blot away excess oil throughout the day. You gotta love the wax seal packaging featuring Kat’s logo on the compact! They packaged this guy up with a cushion-puff applicator for application and it’s prices at $29.

Do you need it?

I probably don’t. I feel like the only person alive that refuses to set with a powder because of my dry skin. I just don’t love how made up I look when I have powder on top of my foundation not to mention it clings to drier areas. Yak!

But if you love it get it now at Sephora.com.

Happy Monday by the very way. How’s it treating you today? Mine is ok, going fast, but so much work on my desk to get done. Anyone catch up on the newest Silicon Valley season? I caught episode 1 while traveling this weekend but I’m behind on episode 2. I’m happy to see Russell Hanneman back. I swear he’s solid TV gold. I’m still trying to figure out if who he is based off of. I’ve leaned towards Mark Cuban since his intro but a lot of people think he’s more a Sean Parker. What do you think?

Either way, happy to have him back. The fact that he was waiting outside a school that his kid didn’t even attend was classic ha…!

Easily amused here.

Have a good rest of the day! Hope it goes as fast as mine is going!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. i am setting powder obsessed so you can send any you get and don’t want my way! LOL j/k i want this..but i have to make a dent in my powder draw before buying. It’ll probably be a VIB Sale in November purchase for me. I like her loose setting powder a lot!

I like the packaging and would get this if it had SPF! Powders are the easiest way to refresh sun protection throughout the day IMO. I might get the matching hand mirror if it becomes available here.

You are not the only person. I have dry skin too and setting powders and I don’t do well together.

Don’t set much, either. My skin is porous an everything liquid/cream absorbs. I want to like kvd face products, but everything is too yellow. Not too warm, too yellow. Just wrong.

HAHAHAHA I’m so happy that you remember the Tres Commas dude!

This past weekend, my BF and I went to a car museum, spending most of our time posing like this in our touristy photos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJIAOosI6js

Unfortunately the lighting kind of sucked and made me look sweaty shiny in the pictures, but I’m hesitant to use more than a touch of powder after the age of 25 since I noticed they started making my under eye skin crease. The museum was in Reno, NV, so no way in hell was I gonna pack on the powder in the middle of the desert like I would in equally hot but way more humid Southeast Asia.

Anyhoo, the packaging of these compacts is quite pretty, but the only powder I’m currently interested in is the By Terry loose one with hyaluronic acid, which supposedly doesn’t cause excessive drying.

LOL Annie! That’s one of my fav scenes. He’s such an ahole, I love it! He’s back in this season and I couldn’t be happier! Use a fiber eyeshadow brush, something like the mac 286! I have drier undereyes but I still set with powder by using a bushier brush 😀 It works a treat. Promise! 😀 Haven’t tried the By Terry tbh but sounds good to me anything that does dry my skin out further is a plus 😀

Thank you for the under eye brush + powder advice!

I wish I had more wisdom to add, alas, I only have tangental commentary about Silicon Valley:

        * As someone who lives in Silicon Valley, my guilty pleasure is comparing people people I actually know to characters on the show. That’s a testament to the show’s accuracy — for some of us, it’s no longer a satire but a friggin’ documentary.

        * If you watch later seasons of the American version of The Office, the actor who plays Russ Hanneman is the same dude who plays the camera man set assistant best boy grip set whatever guy Pam confides in as Jim does his sports startup in Philly.

Has anyone seen these in person? I want one but I’m unsure on whether to get fair or light. Fair actually looks white but unsure if it’s just in pictures
