You probably know all about that age old secret of shaving your legs with a moisturizing body lotion or body cream. Hands up, who does this? I do! I have dry skin so it’s kind of a life saver plus for some reason or another its a really great way way to get a super close shave and a moisturizing one.

I picked up Gillete Venus Moisturizing Shower & Shave Cream because of this and I love it. Smoothest, closest shave of my life not to mention moisturizing too! And $3.99! Score!

Gilette Venus Moisturizing Shower & Shave Cream is available in an array of different fragrances and comes in a 10 oz squeeze tube. I picked up the Vanilla Creme and it’s a nice slightly sweet vanilla scent.

This is a thicker cream that does creates some lather but I don’t massage it enough to create a huge foam as I prefer the lotion aspect of it. Smooth it on, get your razor out, and shave. Bam! Yeah, it does clog up the blades a little but it does break down a lot easier than a body lotion or cream and can be easily rinsed off blades with warm water. That’s one reason I actually prefer it over my method of using any old body lotion I have hanging around.

There’s something terribly satisfying about shaving with this. It gets such a close shave not to mentioning it’s quite moisturizing!

Do grab this up!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Nice to hear, I wish the razors were only much. I’ve been using Cetaphil for years.

I’ve been using conditioner for years now not only to shave with but as body wash. Would never go back to soaps. My HG is shea moisture shea butter formula. I prefer a natural silicone free formula.

I wish I could jump on the lotion/conditioner shaving bandwagon, but I just hate the way it clogs up the blades! I feel like it doubles the time it takes me to shave because I’m spending so much time trying to get them clean again. I’ve been doing the whole Dollar Shave Club thing for the sheer convenience of it and have fallen in love with their Dr. Carver’s Shave Butter because it gives me a super close shave and doesn’t upset my skin, but I may give this stuff a shot!

I shave in the shower and my razor of choice is the Gillette venus swirl (the one with the ball). I never have issues with the blades clogging (just rinse under the shower spray) and I go a minimum of a month on a blade. The most important thing is to dry it and store it outside of the shower. Rust and corrosion are the #1 killer of blades.
